Clerks 2 and Mallrats was on HD-DVD, so they will probably come first.

And "Zak And Miri Make A Porno" should be coming day-and-date with the DVD early next year.

Sorry, no news as of yet of any future Kevin Smith Blu-Rays. I do think MALLRATS and CLERKS 2 may be the ones most likely to come soon. I'm really hoping for MALLRATS, since I'm still holding onto the two DVD's of it I have. The second one with the newer features is a crappy flipper disc that skips, so I'd like MALLRATS so I can make space.

I really hope that JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK gets double dipped since the Blu-Ray doesn't have most of the features on the SE DVD. Plus, the screen caps I've seen of it look terrible.

CLERKS, CHASING AMY and JERSEY GIRL are also owned by Disney through Miramax, so those might take a while. I'd like to see the CLERKS X DVD on Blu, although I'd like the soundtrack from the first DVD included on there, since I noticed that during the opening credits, you can hear the sound fx of like the coffee pot, the newspaper machine, Dante's kick on the shutters, etc. But in the "remastered" soundtrack for the CLERKS X DVD, they're gone and it's just the music, which I didn't like nearly as much. CHASING AMY I hope Criterion re-releases as a Blu-Ray and include like a retrospective doc as well as the 10th anniversary Q&A at the Archlight. And JERSEY GIRL I'd be fine with as is, although I'd like to see the director's cut that was shown at some of the Vulgarthons that some people say is better than the theatrical release.

And Sony should also try to get all three EVENING WITH's on Blu-Ray.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (JSBSB) was released by Disney back in 2006:

Dogma was released by Sony earlier this year:

I'm curious of my dedication to Blu Ray would actually allow me to purchase Clerks again. Sure it'd be nice to have extra features but based on the original video and sound quality, I'm thinking I'll be alright with my Clerks X DVDs.

Would love a Chasing Amy release, though.

it would be cool to have a boxed set of all the askewniverse films on blu, the only one i have now is dogma, but mallrats is one of my favorites, almost entirely because of jason lee in the game show scene at the end

If you want to branch out a bit, read his Green Arrow graphic novel, if you haven't already.

That said, I'd like to see Chasing Amy on Blu, I have most of the view askew movies, this one by far needs some attention.

It was filmed on film was it not? It will benefit from the higher resolution of blu-ray.

(Clerks was filmed using a 16mm Arri SR-2 camera and used Kodak Plus-X film)

The movie looks like crap. Will the higher-resolution of Blu-ray help that?

It doesn't matter if you want it or not, if you actually read his post you might learn something. Then you wont have to ask the same question if there is another low-budget film you may happen to like.

Then why comment?

Actually you can comment on releases you don't want, with structured debate or opinions, but your post was your run of the mill "thread crapping" and trust me I know.... I thread crap with the best of them

I am one of the biggest Kevin Smith Fans out there but I would surely NOT buy Clerks on Blu Ray. I just see no sense whatsoever in releasing that title on Blu Ray. I have Clerks II on HD-DVD and that looked pretty good.

You're right, and I apologize. I just read the entire thread and learned that Kevin Smith's personal testicle wranglers love Blu-ray.
