I also bought this quad for The Phantom of the Opera from eBay for 10, it a bit of a dull poster for a dull adaptation of the Gaston Leroux novel.

20191020_221348_resized.jpg

The tagline 'To Kill Him is to Destroy his Music' is lame, the 'He was Freddy... Now he is The Phantom of the Opera' tagline would have been the better choice to capitalize on the Nightmare on Elm Street connection.

One of the few UK quads that use the BBFC video '18' certificate that was used mainly on VHS releases at the time.

20191020_221315_resized.jpg

Star Jill Schoelen in costume.

20191021_125806_resized.jpg

Like almost all quads the title is written on the back but whoever wrote this couldn't even be bothered to spell Phantom properly. Is that a 'V' or a 'U'?

A few pictures of my original UK quad for Nightbreed. Glossy paper, bad lighting and my bad photography means lots of horrible glare but you get the idea.

This is a rather bland and forgettable quad, much like the film itself really. It's OK and all but not that striking.

20191031_013932_resized.jpg

The Masters of the Macabre Join Forces... With the Nightbreed is kind of a cool tagline I suppose. I am surprised there is no mention of Clive Barker's previous film Hellraiser, which had been a hit and was very popular.

20191031_013951_resized.jpg

A bad photoshop cut out of David Cronenberg, one of the best things in Nightbreed.

20191031_014005_resized.jpg

Some additional plugging for books and the soundtrack record, cassette and CD.

A list of my duplicate UK quads, all original & rolled. There is some edge wear & minor creases due to be stored & moved, condition I would say is good to near mint, no folds or rips.
All $10 each + $20 postage in a sturdy tube for any quantity. I live in Canada but will mail anywhere.

Jpegs of the poster will be sent so you can see the poster.

Rather dull quad for the UK release of the teen slasher Hell Night.

Nothing much to this quad really, most of it is just black with the shadowy figure of the killer centre. Even the tagline 'Pray for Day...' feels mundane.

20191220_012930_resized.jpg

Not sure what the spikey font on the Hell Night lettering is all about, is meant to be fire? There are no fire in Hell Night.

This is more like it.

An original UK quad for Catacombs, another cheapo Empire Pictures flick that EiV released over here. More awesome artwork here, doesn't really say much about the film but it looks fantastic.

20191222_015926_resized.jpg

Apparently not released in the US until 1993 under the title Curse IV: The Ultimate Sacrifice.

20191222_015937_resized.jpg

It's odd that EiV decided to release something as crap as Catacombs theatrically here in the UK when there were much better Empire Picture films around at that time that went straight to VHS like Dolls (1987) and Cellar Dweller (1988).

A UK quad for a double bill of mid 80's slashers, Jason Lives and April Fool's Day from Paramount.

'Make a Double Date with Hell!' screams the tagline and thank heaven for the interval indeed as we can all get up and leave before the rubbish April Fool's Day starts.

20200103_020144_resized.jpg

Just the original US one sheet I presume.

20200103_020154_resized.jpg

Again, just the original US one sheet artwork.

20200103_020209_resized.jpg

Both of these films would now be downgraded to '15' certificates, in fact Jason Lives was back in 2002 for it's DVD release over here.

Got a few myself; in particular order, Braveheart 'Romance' quad, Hellboy 2, Hatchet 1 (Adam Green), Saw 3 (which i don't want any more, lost interest in the series), and original 1989 Tim Burton's Batman featuring Batman and the Batmobile. Bought from the cinema at the end of it's run!

You not wanting to keep your Saw III quad because you are no longer interested in the series sounds like strange reasoning to me, I have loads of quads for films that I had zero interest in to begin with.

Anyway, hers another cool and lurid quad for an 'X' rated double bill from the mid 70's of Craze and Cat and Mouse.

20200103_020351_resized.jpg

'Where Black Magic Explodes into Horror!' Cool looking and colourful sketchy type artwork for Craze staring Jack Palance and Diana Dors, I have never seen this one but always wanted to.

20200103_020420_resized.jpg

Cat and Mouse is the UK retitle of Mousey, a made-for-TV film from 1974 with Kirk Douglas. I have not seen this either and by all accounts is more of a drama/thriller than outright horror.

20200103_020432_resized.jpg

A little bit from the bottom right hand corner is missing! Annoying but no big deal and doesn't affect the artwork at all.

20200103_020441_resized.jpg

I do like the style of art for Craze and there's another little piece of the quad missing along the top edge but again doesn't affect the art.

Thanks, I hope you like this wildly mismatched double bill for The Dirty Mob and The Severed Arm

20200121_012328_resized.jpg

A UK retitle for an Italian action film called Ricco which I have never seen.

20200121_012404_resized.jpg

An early slasher sort of horror film The Severed Arm is actually quite good, nobody in this film is possessed by the Devil so I am not sure why reference to it is made on the quad, not the greatest artwork here but still cool.

20200121_012418_resized.jpg

Great art for The Dirty Mob.

20200121_012450_resized.jpg

At least we know The Severed Arm is in colour which is helpful.

This quad for the supernatural horror One Dark Night isn't in the best of condition with a few rips across some of the fold lines and some water damage that thankfully you can't see unless you look at the back and see the wrinkling of the paper.

20200205_014356_resized.jpg

Great artwork that I think is unique to the UK quad, I don't think it has ever been used on a home video release for the film.

20200205_014428_resized.jpg

Best Horror Film of 1983? I am not sure about that. Videodrome says Hi.

20200205_105310_resized.jpg

Cool art.

20200205_014500_resized.jpg

A few rips like this one around the edges, unfortunately but for less than 10 I can live with it.

A decent look quad for Vigilante here, at least it only cost me 7. The shadowy figures standing over the New York skyline is pretty cool I suppose and I also like the style this has been painted in, too.

20200214_000056_resized.jpg

Not the greatest artwork but not the worst either, I think this art may be unique to the UK quad and I don't think it was used again.

20200214_000110_resized.jpg

This has an '18' rating with an 'X' certificate in brackets, I assume Vigilante was released just as the changeover from the old ratings to the new ones that we know and love today was taking place so both are on this quad.

A UK quad for the Van Damme actioner Sudden Death.

I don't really do 90's quads but I quite like Van Damme and think Sudden Death is a great action film, OK the two small kids are annoying but otherwise it's a really good Die Hard rip-off that was released five years too late.

20200214_000258_resized.jpg

Now downgraded to a '15' uncut this was originally an '18'.

20200214_000312_resized.jpg

So much film artwork from the 90's onwards is just floating head photoshop mediocrity.

20200214_000323_resized.jpg

Often described as double-sided that isn't really true, it's just that the artwork was printed on thick, glossy transparent plastic type paper that were displayed in lightboxes that would illuminate the artwork so on the reverse the artwork is backwards and has a slightly duller colour.

20200214_000402_resized.jpg

This one goes well with my cool Hard Target quad.

A nice quad for a film called Oklahoma Crude here, only cost me a fiver.

A bit more colour would have been nice, the black and white and the red tint lessens the art here I think.

20200219_004845_resized.jpg

Available everywhere in the paperback edition, apparently.

20200219_004914_resized.jpg

There aren't too many films that have epic stories about wooden derricks, I don't even know what a wooden derrick is!

20200219_004932_resized.jpg

Impressive cast.

20200219_004948_resized.jpg

I am not sure Best Picture Moscow Film Festival 1973 is much to boast about, who knew Moscow even held a film festival?
