I'm certain the last VHS tape I bought was Treasure of the Moon Goddess, because I bought it long after I stopped buying tapes, and I was a Beta guy anyway so only bought a handful of VHS. It's a Linnea Quigley movie that I don't believe had a release in any other format. Unfortunately, it's one of her least entertaining and no nudity. |

Got these at a goodwill for 1$ each, which will make worthy additions to my interior retro showcase display.
![]() ![]() ![]() I actually enjoy watching Evil Dead in this analogue format. It helps strengthens the low budget qualities in it, makes it all the more unsettling now that you can't notice those rubber hoses as easily. |

The HBO VHS from the '80s is like staring at a black screen for 90 minutes. |

I was also disappointed to learn that the second-run of The Evil Dead by HBO on VHS already has that damn Macrovision on it, so I can't (easily) rip it from the VHS. Last edited by BeastCreatureTrapper; 07-12-2019 at 12:32 AM. |

I see that the video is available in multiple uploads on Vimeo. I have to admit that I never heard of this artist until I spotted the VHS at random. |

I found "Hercules: Zero to Hero" at thrift store near me.
It's basically three eps. from "Hercules: The Animated Series" made into "a movie." As of now the Hercules tv-show is not on DVD so this is its only home release. ![]() |

according to Wikipedia:
Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book (the one posted) was December 25, 1994 and the 1st live action remake 101 Dalmatians is 2nd and released on November 27, 1996 I hate commenting on Disney history/trivia and if I'm wrong or the great wiki is wrong then please correct -- just don't send the Mouse (tm) after me. ![]() |

Last VHS tapes I bought were three Australian Tranzor Z VHS tapes:
![]() ![]() ![]() The first and third tapes have the same content, with the cover art being the only difference between the two. Have fond memories of frequently renting the first two tapes as a kid. Never rented the third one as none of my local rental stores at the time had it. In fact, I never knew of that one's cover art until I stumbled across it by luck about a year or so ago. Took me almost twenty years to find copies of the first two tapes due to how frustratingly rare Tranzor Z tapes are. I have a spare copy of each, but the condition of their covers are quite weather-beaten. I also have three of the five U.S. Tranzor Z tapes and am still on the hunt for the other two, which have eluded me thus far. |

I thought that I would post an odd but funny VHS related occurrence that happened about 3 Saturdays ago at a Goodwill store.
As a friend and I headed toward the back of the store where the blue bins are (new arrivals that haven't been put out yet), a young guy walked by holding a Star Trek 1-5 VHS box set (like the one pictured below). After leaving the bins we noticed this box set had already been discarded onto a shelf with other various junk (nowhere near the movie section). I looked it over but it had tons of either shelf wear or whatever that made it look too dull/worn. Left it then went to the movie section by the front door. Friend found a dvd but before we could leave it started to pour. Came down heavy enough on the roof that it sounded like you were by a big waterfall. Several times the rain slowed way down only to pour again. As we were waiting for it to stop my friend said 'look at this guy' (pointing out the window). Somebody had run out of the store while it was coming down hard. Then my friend said 'he's got the Star Trek set!!'. Immediately we started laughing cause the guy was leaning forward while running but he was holding the box set BEHIND HIS BACK!!! No bag no nothing. The paper covered box artwork was getting soaked. Lol, that was priceless ![]() |
