I would never question that. I question the originating post since you quoted almost the entire thing and then went to the trouble of bolding most of it.

To be fair though, if I had a dollar for every time someone on these boards truly responded to a whole post, Iíd probably have...a dollar...in quarters.

F**k! Don't remind me. The Moana soundtrack deserved a darn Oscar, nevermind the film itself. My evening is ruined, lol.

My choice for 2017 Best Animated Feature would have been My Life as a Zucchini.

I think Zootopia was deserving of the Oscar though. It’s a fun, witty, clever movie with good likable characters.

Kubo would have been deserving too, but the two movies couldn’t be anymore different from each other in terms of tone and style.

Moana would have been my third choice. I haven’t seen The Red Turtle yet.

I also greatly enjoyed Sing! That movie is a lot of fun, has great characters, and the music is really well done.

I adore Zootopia. Everything from the character designs, the music, the story, the bravery to actually have something to say...love it.

That, and Judy air-fist-bump-dances at the end in the closing credits just like my wife at a wedding.

Both are excellent. Moana is my personal favorite of the two entertainment-wise, but I'd say Zootopia's life lessons and excellent animation made it a better choice for the winner there.

But that's why Kubo shoulda won. It championed over both Zootopia and Moana in terms of creativity, dramatic depth, and overall visual beauty as a film. Zootopia was the safe choice because it was Disney and a billion dollar box office success.

I donít disagree; Kubo is a great film. My Life as a Zucchini, which was also nominated that year, has equal dramatic depth. It got a PG-13 rating for some of the adult/darker themes. Itís about a group of orphans who live in a foster home.

Itís one thing to have something to say. Itís another thing to cram it down the audienceís throats and forget that you also have to entertain. The message is fine, the messaging is forced and way to on-the-nose. And also that Shakira song...just no.

Goodness me, the Shakira song. I asked myself, "Am I watching a DreamWorks animation circa 2005? This has to be a nightmare." It wasn't. They actually ended the film with a Shakira song.
