Region locking is going to be a huge thing when physical media goes the way of the dodo.
It's already a standard practice for large parts of the digital market. Just look at streaming, or the iTunes store for example. Unfortunately there's nothing consumers can really do to change it, lawmakers and industry need to change things from the inside.

Mine shipped from the UK, but there haven't been any tracking updates since November 1st and it's starting to make me a tad concerned.

One thing about the iTunes Store, though: You can download your purchase for 1080p and below media, and it doesn't matter where your computer is located once you have it. No need to mess with a VPN for streaming.

Not sure what you're getting at, unless you're talking about DRM, which isn't necessarily tied to region locking. Often is but it doesn't have to be. What I meant is the ability to access content in the first place is routinely region locked on digital platforms. Tons of movies and TV shows unavailable to me because of the location of my IP or the country associated with my account, same with some music too.

Even Netflix is lacking plenty of licenses for shows and movies for non-US regions. So you do need a VPN if you want to access all the content available on a given service. Can also create different accounts for certain regions, but that can be difficult with regards to payment options. Most of this doesn't bother me too much personally, seeing as I dislike streaming in general, but it's not consumer-friendly at all. Funny how physical releases are in many cases more convenient for some consumers than digital.

Sorry for the rant, lol.

Why do you remove user info and post reference from your quotes?

See when I check the tracking on Amazon UK it gives me a tracking number that doesn't show up anything. Then I got a random tracking number from DHL which I figured is my movie. It makes little to no sense but I'm hoping it is the movie and it'll be here tomorrow.

I don't usually use the "Reply with quote" function. Can't remove something I never included to begin with.

It'd be nice if we could see who you were quoting.

You use the quote function just fine on other forums, so why not here?

Laziness, basically. I'll do better in the future, lol. Btw anyone here who has read the manga the movie's based on? My impression was that it's quite a bit better. A story with this kind of theme likely benefits a lot from more long-form storytelling.

I’m in the minority who prefers the film- not just because of the improved visuals, the excellent sound design, and Hayami Saori’s performance as Shouko- no, while those are good reasons, I think it’s better because it cuts out a lot of the teen melodrama, and keeps in only what’s nescessary.

I can surly understand why people don't like the movie but truly this is a great one. It brings the pages of the mange to life giving them movement that we didn't get to see. Sure it could have been better, but you have to remember time constraints prevent stuff like that. For what is it, I think they did a wonderful job.

How bad is it? If it is really bad contact Amazon CS. Amazon CS will probably let you keep it and give you a full refund or send a brand new one for free.

I'm kinda in the same boat here. I just noticed mine has a tiny but luckily barely noticeable crease on the front cover. It's not visible with the clear slip on. Not sure if I should ask for replacement because it's otherwise in good condition. Don't wanna get banned.

Yeah that's terrible enough to warrant a refund or replacement.
