Question Dumb question but, is 4K 3D not a thing?

Could it ever be?

Pretty sure 3D Blu-Ray sold poorly, so the can’t see them trying again with something even more expensive. I can’t even remember the last movie I saw released in 3D for normal theatres.

In theory it could be. But I seriously doubt it.

If we are talking anaglyph (glasses with one red and one blue lens) then it is one picture and so already doable, but with 3D (type introduced with BD) that means having two pictures and so twice as many pixels. The UHD disks barely have enough bandwith and capacity for a decent UHD picture, let alone adding 3D

On the current UHD format? no, it's not in the specs.
