For those that don't want to spend $200 please go to the site and check it out. There's a smaller set available that still contains all of this concerts for $100. Another option for some of us. I think this smaller one is the said I'd buy.

Got mine on Wednesday. It's a beautiful set. Comes in a chocolate box looking thing. I only watched his 2002 Broadway show, which I've seen and heard many times. This is the original broadcast version. It was cut on the HBO dvd, every time he did a musical number. This set is going to take me a long time to go through, but well worth it.

Liked his movies, thought his stand-up was crap.

All those frenetic moves, voice imitations all changing within a second or two. I don't see the big deal.

Carlin, Pryor, Seinfeld, Jimmy Carr, Ron White. Now, that there's some good stand-up.

It is what it is. It's just great to have almost everything together. The encodes are good and probably ahead of something you'd find on youtube. At least it's not blocky.

My main problem with his standup, was that just like so many other comics, he resorted to swearing or disgusting stories when it wasn't necessary to make people laugh. There's elements of his standup routines that I like, but others where I ask myself, "What was he thinking?"...

Saw this for $30 at Walmart today. I'm not sure how it differs from $200 Time Life set in the OP.

If this has even most of what was in the original set, it's a massive bargain in comparison.

Its the most important part of the time life set all 5 of his HBO specials, it does not have his talk show appearances and interviews the timelife set has all that

Just a note that the 1986 "Live At The Met" special on this set (at least the smaller one) is not the full uncut version that was on VHS and laserdisc. What I noticed was missing was the whole "driving while high" bit.

My guess is that it's the broadcast version, which I think was edited to run in an hour time slot (VHS/LD version was about 65 minutes or so).

Also, the 2002 special's video quality seems to be a bit off, even for DVD, but it could be source limitations (pretty sure it was recorded in standard def).

Otherwise, the smaller set is a great way to get a lot of Robin Williams's standup material.

My wife got me the Time/Life set for my birthday. Finally will have time this weekend to take a look at what's on the discs. Loved his first two albums (need to replace Throbbing Python of Love). I'm just told that I must watch with "supervision", due to how much I laugh at his material. (The same goes for "Whose Line Is It Anyway?". Is his episode available on YouTube en total?)

I'll let you all know how it goes.
