I saw something about them dubbing the remaining episodes of Part 2 and putting the show on BD. Is this true? Or just someone's ultimate wish?

I wouldn’t get my hopes up on a dub. It would be an expensive feat for such an old series and ultimately wouldn’t be worth the investment. I think a North American Blu-ray is probable, but in what form (SD-BD, DVD source, etc.) remains to be seen.

If a BD is released, and it's not Discotek, I'll wait for comparisons between the DVD collections and the BDs to be posted here. |

My personal opinion is it could also be a hint towards Part 7. Since it’s being announced in NYC, it could potentially be set there as well. |

If it is Part 7, hopefully its not another Part 6. 6 is the worst Lupin TV series

I'm thinking the AnimeNYC announcement is more likely to be another TV special, as the last one was in 2019. Based on the gap between Parts 4-6, Part 7 won't be airing until 2024, so this would be a bit too soon for any news regarding that. The only other thing I could think of would be a sequel to The First.

The Woman Called Fujiko Mine is my fave of what I’ve seen. It’s far darker, more emotionally involved, and more visually interesting than the rest of the franchise. Takeshi Koike’s films are nice too, but they don’t have the same punch as TWCFM. Episode 2 is probably my single favorite piece of the Lupin franchise (and Lupin doesn’t even appear). It’s basically an effective film noir in episode form.

My Part 1 set arrived yesterday. I've only had the chance to watch the first two episodes and um... that was something. Well, I loved the second episode with the magician. His tricks were clever and the story was very well done. I thought I was watching the plot to a short film for a moment.
The first one though, I don't know. For being the first episode, it seemed like the audience was already supposed to know who all of these characters were. Like no one is actually properly introduced and the episode starts off in the middle of the plot without any explanation as to how they got there nor who these Scorpio guys were. Can't say it wowed me and at first I thought I ended up getting a Speed Racer episode on the disc. |

The goemon episode is god tier Lupin, along with Lupin in jail. Those first 10 or so episodes are peak lupin. You’ll know when it stops being top tier as soon as fujiko gets mom hair

Hey guys I ordered "Lupin the 3rd Part II Collection 4" from Rightstuf and it arrived in a black DVD case.
Did anybody else receive their copy in a black DVD case ? seems a bit inconsistent because all the other collections (1-3) have a clear DVD case. I'm contemplating on returning it |

In a past Discotek Day stream it was mentioned there was a DVD case shortage due to supply chain issues. Maybe that explains the inconsistency?
Most titles they released on DVD are being phased out for HD Blu-ray or SD-BD. I guess the thinking was it's better to have a DVD release available for those who want it while still in-print or keep it OOS indefinitely until the proper cases are available. One option makes money, the other doesn't. |
