Default ** How to add Youtube video to Bluray.com posts **

I've searched the posts here and have not found anything in regards to posting video links ala Youtube so as the video itself appears in your post. So for those who want to post Vimeo or Youtube vids in your posts (and are having a hard time doing so for whatever reason), here is what you do:

- More often than not, you can usually scroll over text to highlight it and go to the "globe with paperclip" symbol above to turn those words into a web link, like this.

- In this case, you may want to add the actual video (so people can play it right there in your response).

Usually you would post this:

["url="http://youtube.com/watch?v=vbgLapRAloQ"]http://youtube.com/watch?v=vbgLapRAloQ[/url"] (minus the " around the URL words)

- Instead, take out the "http://" in front of the youtube video link, like this:

["url="http://youtube.com/watch?v=vbgLapRAloQ"]http://youtube.com/watch?v=vbgLapRAloQ[/url"]

into

["url="http://youtube.com/watch?v=vbgLapRAloQ"]youtube.com/watch?v=vbgLapRAloQ[/url"]

- The final result should look like this:

Now you can post video links into your threads! Have fun!

PS: remember to NOT include the quotation marks. I included them above so you could see the code and see what was going on.

Any way to link to a specific time in a video? I know how to append the time to the URL, but it doesn't seem to work on the blu-ray forums and always starts at the beginning of the video.

This still doesn't work for me. I've tried like three times and always get a link instead of embedded video.

Go to YouTube, and bring up the video you want. Copy the whole URL.

I'm using this one:
Code:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XPIldknvjc
Make sure you're using the URL in the address bar. If you click "share" beneath the video, and copy that link, it's different. For the same video above, the "share" URL looks like this:

Code:
https://youtu.be/1XPIldknvjc
That URL will only post as a link.

Come back to the forum, and reply to the topic you want to post the video in.

In the "reply to thread" message toolbar, hit the "insert link" icon

Paste the YouTube URL in the resulting popup, and click ok.

If you select "preview post", you'll see the video and the rest of the post as it will appear when you submit the reply.

Not working for me. I literally copy what’s in your post into a post of mine and the YouTube just posts as a link

Ok, Adcatalano. Let’s try this.

Copy what appears in this code window.

Now, hit the “post reply” button. Paste what you copied into the message editor, nothing more, then hit “preview post”.

You should see this:

How do you post a simple link to youtube videos now? I was under the impression that the youtube "share" link (e.g. youtu. be/ qDudfvgNSso) would not be converted to an embedded player but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Strange. When I try to post a youtube video here in this thread it works fine. When I try to post a youtube video in some other thread I don't get a preview of the video, just a link.

I did post a video the other day in another forum but I copied the url from somebody by quoting the person's video post, and replaced it with the url of the video I wanted to post. It worked fine but when I tried again today this method didn't work anymore.

I don't think it has changed since the OP.

Doesn't work for me either. Last YT video post success at bluraydotcom was 1.22.22.

After fiddling around a bit it seems to work if you add one " at the beginning and one " end of the url. For some reason it shows two in this demo, but it should be one each.

What's up with YouTube postings not showing the actual preview screen rather than just the link itself? I am at my wit's end, and I usually have no issues with this stuff.
