Default Burn in or image retention?

Over the past week or so on my Panasonic V10 Plasma ive noticed that when there is bright white on the lower half of the display theres a faint image of the Nickelodeon logo and a faint blue bar across the bottom of the screen. Its only visible on a white background so I dont know if its retention or burn in. Kids must have left channel on forever.

Is there anyway to get rid of this?

Have you tried running the anti image retention scrolling bar a few times? it may remove it but if not, then it's a permanent burn-in.

Garnish their allowances until you have enough to pay for a new TV. They might be more careful next time.

Something I did a few years ago that helped get rid of the burn-in on my Panasonic plasma was to create a looping video of a solid white image. The burn-in happened when I accidentally left a Blu-ray running over night and it played the menu for several hours...so maybe it wasn't that bad. But I played the white video all day while I was at work and when I got home the burn-in was gone.

1- Press "Menu" on your remote control.
2- Scroll down to "Setup".
3- Scroll down to select "Anti Image Retention".

Ah, in that case it doesn't look like the V10 has one. I'm just trying leaving a white screen playing from YouTube at the minute.

I hope they'll work for you. Just curious, what is the model number of your TV?

Interesting. I may give this a try. I've got a laptop hooked up to my old plasma, and the taskbar is burned in at the bottom. Given the age of the television, I suspect it's long since become a permanent issue, but I've never tried something like this. I'll give it a go!
