Sounds good, never seen it before, but heard quite a bit about it. I like George C. Scott, so I’ll grab it upon release or later on.

Makes you wonder if The Hitcher (another title with HBO in the US, and I believe Studio Canal here) has changed hands...
Ooh! Be a bit of a coup if Second Sight get to it before Arrow do, if StudioCanal have let that one go as well. Are there any other lucrative titles from the same library?

Well, the rating below 15 is 12, and I think the BBFC wants to shield that particular age group from Richard Gere's wang.

I'm assuming it'll have the car-breaking scene intact, previously cut for being "imitable".
"Can you play In A Spanish Garden?".

"Si, seńor"

"Well, why don't you p*** off and play there, then..."

I watched Breathless on Netflix last year, before they pulled it from the service. It was widescreen and in HD. Can confirm Gere's wang was intact.

Excited to see Breathless get a release. Obviously it's not a patch on the original, but it's a fascinating curio nonetheless.

I've got the German release, Richard's 'Gere' is visible. Presuming SS will be using the same but with their usual 'extra clean up'

And I have the Shout Factory blu-ray so I can also confirm a cameo from 'Little Richard'
[Show spoiler]
What did you think was going to be here?

The rights to The Hitcher are no longer with HBO they have reverted back to the producers David Bombyk and Kip Ohman.

I still think Arrow will be releasing it and it seems even more likely now SS are doing The Changeling.

Breathless is interesting also because it influenced Tarantino a good deal (he says it's one of his favourite movies). There's certainly a lot of proto-Tarantino things in it.

Yeah I too think Arrow have this one up their sleeve, not least since the director confirmed a Blu was in preparation. Do we know if the rights situation is for the UK and US btw?

Bombyk and Ohman both died of AIDS not long after the film’s release, so if that is true, hopefully whoever looks after their estate knows what they’re doing...

Quite right, its with executive Producer Charles R. Meeker andI couldn't remember his name earlier and just wikipedia'd the film and it only listed Bombyk and Ohman.

Who incidentally also has got the rights back to Near Dark.

Very interesting. Let's hope we see developments on both fronts.

Looks like they were right. Literally just has another update from HMV claiming Berlin Alexanderplatz is now slated for 15th May. More than happy to wait for them to be done right, but wouldn't it be easier for Second Sight to give a date much further in the future rather than push the date back every month? Maybe I'm just being picky, but I'd rather they said it wouldn't be coming until the Autumn (or even taking a release date away altogether) and only revising when they had a definite date in mind...

Guess I shall expect a delayed email for Heimat shortly!

Movie quality alone, as I can see new extras, the BD25 US release of Breathless. Will the BD50 make any difference to PQ? Or is it just storage for extras?

I’d forgotten about this movie and would like it, the US is under Ł10 delivered. I’d probably watch the new interview if I had it, but same time wouldn’t miss it if I didn’t. That UK artwork tho, not feeling that. Looks like Gere does Elvis in Grease to me. Black case is cool though.

Once Were Warriors is an excellent film, best blind buy of the year so far. Don't overlook it!
