Anyway - Oh wow - this is very good information. I didn’t know anything about AT&T taking over and Cinemax dropping the soft core stuff. (I’ve never paid for Cinemax to know any of this) So HBO owns Cinemax? I didn’t know that until today. I always thought they were competing enemies. I wonder why as a cable member paying for HBO I don’t automatically also get the Cinemax cable channels ? Guess that’s a separate package. Either way: all new news to me- thanks Last edited by eiknarf; 06-04-2023 at 10:55 PM. |

Warrior was a Cinemax show until it was cancelled. It was revived as a Max Original. Last edited by steve_dave; 06-04-2023 at 11:00 PM. |

Ya know what’s funny? I recently got two new Samsung TVs. The HBO MAX app was on the default “quick access” bar (along with Netflix and Hulu and Prime) that pops up along the bottom when ya click the HOME button on the remote.
Meaning it was one of the main apps everyone sees. Now that I installed the new MAX app and got rid of the old HBO MAX app, the new MAX app is no longer in the quick access bar. To get to the new MAX app i have to click the icon that takes me to all the rest of the apps. I don’t mind it, but I wonder what THEY think of it? All the recent TVs don’t have MAX in people’s direct vision. That kinda matters as it’s like free advertising |

Wish we can have more shows like Warriors, Banshee, Outcast, or Strike Back for Max Original. Cinemax had the best Action/Thriller/Horror/Drama series sucks now the network is utterly useless to pay for. But the series Outcast deserved better. I am not sure why Cinemax screwed that show during season two while premiering overseas but 2 years later in the states.
Would we ever get to see Tales from the Crypt series on MAX for GOD SAKES get the licensing for it Zaslav. |

i don't think despite outcry that max team aren't never going to use apple tvos function and we will have to learn to adopt to their player
i almost thought about removing my apple tv and using roku that i still got upstairs on another tv because apple remote lost it functions due to this now besides have to turn off subtitles certain shows and movies sometimes i don't know why sound is sometimes low like i got my onkyo receiver on 70 volume watching fame 1980 movie on apple tv 4k streaming device sound is little low |

I'll include another debacle with Quarry. What an intriguing first season only to be cancelled. Still not sure what happened there. Cinemax was fantastic for a while. |

Has anyone notice that Dolby Vision is dark on the Max app since it debuted? I'm referring to the LG TV native app specifically. Dolby vision was bright on the LG TV hbo max app so why they decided to dim it for Max? My TV is LG G3 OLED.

Looks like the issue with Dolby Vision "appearing" on programming via ATV4K has been resolved,. I wanted to Watch Man of Steel (yes, I have the 4K disc) and when I started the film it switched and displayed 4K DV properly.
Here's hoping Peacock gets their shit together soon. ![]() |

No, I think WB might be hoping for those that don’t go or skipped the theaters will buy the the film digitally instead. Any chance of that pretty much goes out the window by putting it up on Max.

Like Shazam: Fury of the Gods, I’m sure it will be on Max day and date with the DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K releases. The 45 day window is no longer valid at Warner Discovery and lost revenue will be recouped faster via digital sell-through.

It seems that Apple has finally gotten it together and is no longer listing almost everything on Max as 4K in the TV app. Now I just need Max to fix the glitch were subtitles get turned on during the credits of a show with no input from the user.
