Citrus Anime's 1st Promo Video Reveals Staff, More Cast, January Premiere

Spice and Wolf's Takeo Takahashi directs series at Passione

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Saburouta's Citrus yuri manga began streaming the anime's first promotional video on Friday.

The site also revealed one more cast member, a new visual, the show's staff, and the January 2018 premiere. The anime will air on Tokyo MX, AT-X, and BS Fuji.

Takeo Takahashi (Spice and Wolf, MAOYU, Hinako Note) is directing the series at studio Passione. Naoki Hayashi (Flip Flappers, D.C.III ~Da Capo III~ script) is overseeing the series scripts, and Izuro Ijuuin (Barakamon, Wagnaria!!3 animation director) is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director. Lantis is producing the music, and Infinite is producing the series.

The anime stars:

Ayana Taketatsu as Yuzuko Aihara
Minami Tsuda as Mei Aihara
Yukiyo Fujii as Harumi Taniguchi, Yuzuko's classmate
Yurika Kubo as Himeko Momokino, Mei's childhood friend and student council vice president
Shiori Izawa as Matsuri Mizusawa, Yuzuko's childhood friend
Ikumi Hayama as Kayo Maruta
Seven Seas is publishing the manga in North America, and it describes the story:

Yuzuko Aihara, a high school girl whose main interests are fashion, friends, and having fun, is about to get a reality check. Due to her mom's remarriage, Yuzu has transferred to a new all-girls school that is extremely strict. Her real education is about to begin.
From day one, happy-go-lucky Yuzu makes enemies, namely the beautiful yet stern Student Council President Mei. So what happens when a dejected Yuzu returns home and discovers the shock of her life: that Mei is actually her new stepsister who has come to live with her? Even more surprising, when Mei catches Yuzu off guard and kisses her out of the blue, what does it all mean?

Saburouta launched the manga in Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime magazine in 2012. Ichijinsha published the manga's seventh compiled book volume on June 16. The series' compiled volumes have more than 800,000 copies in print. Seven Seas published the sixth volume on August 22.

The official website for Himōto! Umaru-chan R, the second anime season based on Sankaku Head's Himōto! Umaru-chan manga, began streaming a promotional video featuring the character Sylphynford Tachibana on Thursday.

The website previously streamed promotional videos featuring Umaru, Ebina, and Kirie.

The anime will air in Japan on Tokyo MX, ABC Asahi Broadcasting, BS11, and AT-X starting in October.

The main staff is returning from the first season, including the anime studio Doga Kobo, director Masahiko Ohta, series script supervisor Takashi Aoshima, and character designer Aya Takano. The following main cast members are also returning:

Aimi Tanaka as Umaru Doma
Kenji Nojima as Taihei Doma
Akari Kageyama as Nana Ebina
Haruka Shiraishi as Kirie Motoba
Yurina Furukawa as Sylphynford Tachibana

The first television anime series premiered in July 2015, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired. Sentai Filmworks released the anime in North America with an English dub on May 30.

The manga and anime's story centers around Taihei Doma and his little sister Umaru, who boasts beautiful looks as well as prowess in both school and sports. However, she has a certain secret. Everyone may think she is the ideal girl, but she is anything but. "Himōto" is a pun on "imōto" (little sister) and "himono," which means "dried fish," but in slang can refer to a woman who is proper in public but lazy at home.

Sankaku Head launched the manga in Weekly Young Jump in 2013 (after running an earlier two-chapter Himōto! Umaru-chan! version in Miracle Jump in 2012). The manga has 2.7 million copies in print as of March.

The seventh compiled book volume of Kentarō Satō's Magical Girl Site (Mahō Shōjo Site) manga is revealing on Friday that a television anime adaptation of the manga has been green-lit for next year. The manga is also transferring from Akita Shoten's Champion Tap! manga website to the publisher's Weekly Shōnen Champion print magazine.

Akita Shoten's Bessatsu Shōnen Champion magazine teased in August that Satō's original Magical Girl Apocalypse manga would have an important announcement on Friday.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga and it describes the story:

Asagiri Aya is a young girl who has fallen victim to bullies at her school. Looking for a way to escape her troubles, she looks to the Internet for distraction, when a mysterious website called “Magical Girl Site” appears. Simply viewing the page is all it takes to hurtle Aya headlong into the deadly world of the Magical Girl Apocalypse. There, it's fight or die, against a seemingly endless array of savagely adorable, frilly-skirted killing machines, each armed with magical powers and an unquenchable thirst for blood and chaos.

The horror manga is a spinoff of Satō's original Magical Girl Apocalypse manga. The spinoff launched in Champion Tap! in July 2013. Seven Seas Entertainment released the manga's first volume on February 21.

Satō launched the Magical Girl Apocalypse manga in Bessatsu Shōnen Champion's first issue in June 2012, and ended it on August 12. Akita Shoten published the manga's 15th and final compiled book volume on July 7. Seven Seas Entertainment released the 12th volume on July 4.

Aniplex of America began streaming an English-subtitled version of the first promotional video for the television anime adaptation of Miyuki Nakayama's Blend S four-panel manga on Friday.

The anime's official website began streaming the second promotional video earlier this week.

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11 on October 7 at 24:30 (effectively October 8 at 12:30 a.m.). The series will also air later on Kansai TV, TV Aichi, and AT-X.

The anime's main cast includes:

Azumi Waki as Maika Sakuranomiya. Because she usually has an unpleasant look in her eyes, she was worried that she didn't pass the interview, but the shop manager hired her to work at Stile. Her dream is to one day study abroad. She is the "Do S" (extreme sadist) waitress.

Akari Kitō as Kaho Hinata. A blonde-haired pigtail-wearing popular high school student who is an employee at Stile. In truth she really loves video games, and is always running out of money. She is the tsundere waitress.

Anzu Haruno as Mafuyu Hoshikawa. She looks young but she is actually a college student. She's usually quite calm but when she starts work she becomes a sparkling "little sister" character. She loves children's anime. She is the "little sister" waitress.

Atsumi Tanezaki as Miu Amano, who normally wears glasses and is active in a dōjin circle. She is the "older sister" waitress at Stile, but surprisingly she is easily excitable.

Sora Tokui as Hideri Kanzaki, an employee at Stile who dreams of becoming a cute idol. She uses a male personal pronoun, and her looks are very doll-like, but her true personality is...

Tomoaki Maeno as Dino, an Italian man who scouts Maika to work at Stile. He has a bad habit of getting a nosebleed when he gets too excited.

Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Kōyō Akizuki, who is in charge of the kitchen at Stile. He is a man who loves yuri.

Ryouji Masuyama (Gurren Lagann Parallel Works' "Drill the Heavens with Your XXX!!!" director, The IDOLM@STER episode director) is directing the anime at A-1 Pictures. Go Zappa (Koihime Musō, NAKAIMO - My Little Sister Is Among Them!, Chronicles of the Going Home Club) is supervising the series' scripts. Yousuke Okuda (Is the order a rabbit?) is designing the characters, and Tomoki Kikuya (Squid Girl, Eromanga Sensei) is composing the music.

The manga's story centers on a girl named Maika who gets a job at a cafe where all the waitresses are given certain attributes — such as "tsundere" or "little sister" — to embody while serving customers. The manager asks Maika to be the "Do S" (extreme sadist) waitress, so she will have to adopt a dominant and aggressive persona.

The manga debuted as a guest series in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine in 2013, and Nakayama launched it as a regular series in 2014. Houbunsha released the third compiled book volume on January 27, and will release the fourth volume on October 27.

A Certain Magical Index Season 3 Briefly Listed by Animax Show's Website

posted on 2017-09-25 08:40 EDT

Animax's Aniculbu! (Anime Culture Club) variety program posted a preview of its October 1 episode with A Certain Magical Index producer Kohei Kawase and editor/producer Kazuma Miki as guests. The preview's description briefly listed the following:

A Certain Magical Index Season 3's Broadcast Green-Lit!

A Certain Magical Index, captivating many fans since season 1 began airing in 2008 and season 2 in 2010. Over six years later, the broadcast of season 3 has been green-lit! About a decade after season 1, what kind of story will turn out?

The above passage is no longer on the program's website as of Monday.

The "Dengeki Bunko Aki no Saiten 2017" (Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2017) event will also open this Sunday, October 1. The event will feature a stage panel for "new work announcements" (as well as a separate stage panel for Sword Art Online that teases announcements for new developments in the franchise, including but not limited to games).

Miki had said at the same event in 2015, "Lastly, there is no season 3 yet for Index. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm very sorry." Miki then bowed multiple times to the audience and even did a prostrating dogeza pose on the stage. This past spring, he asked fans at the same stage to "please wait a little longer for season 3!"

Kazuma Kamachi's A Certain Magical Index light novel series has inspired two television anime series, a 2013 anime film, and multiple manga adaptations. A Certain Scientific Railgun spinoff manga has also inspired two television anime adaptations and an original video anime (OVA).

Yen Press is releasing the original light novel series in English, and Funimation has released all of the anime adaptations in North America outside of the A Certain Scientific Railgun OVA. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing A Certain Scientific Railgun manga and the A Certain Scientific Accelerator manga in English, and Yen Press is releasing A Certain Magical Index manga in English.

I hope we get a Railgun season 3. I mean there should be enough source material. And I want to see the romance...
I like Railgun more then Index personally.

A new director and studio are taking over for One-Punch Man season 2...

Chikara Sakura Directs One-Punch Man Anime's 2nd Season at J.C. Staff

Yoshikazu Iwanami directs sounds, main cast returns

Quote:
The official website for the anime adaptation of ONE and Yuusuke Murata's One-Punch Man manga announced the main staff and cast for the anime's second season on Tuesday. Chikara Sakurai (Magimoji Rurumo, episode director for Naruto Shippūden) is replacing Shingo Natsume to direct the season at J.C. Staff (Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Children of the Whales). Madhouse animated the first season.

Yoshikazu Iwanami (Girls und Panzer, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) is replacing Shoji Hata as sound director. Chikashi Kubota (Corpse Princess: Aka, FLCL 2) is returning to design the characters, and Tomohiro Suzuki (ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.) is again in charge of series composition. Makoto Miyazaki (Triage X, Dragon Crisis!) is also returning to compose the music.

The main cast are reprising their roles in the second season.

The One-Punch Man Maji CD Drama & Song CD will ship in Japan on Wednesday. The second audio drama CD in the series will ship on December 20.

The anime's staff announced in September 2016 that the series would get a second season. Madhouse and director Shingo Natsume's first 12-episode anime season aired in Japan from October-December 2015. Viz Media and Daisuki both streamed the series outside of Japan as it aired. The anime premiered with an English dub on Adult Swim's Toonami block in July 2016.

Viz Media released the series on home video in North America. The company's Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo pack shipped with six original video anime (OVA) episodes on April 25. Each OVA episode features a completely original story written by the manga's original author ONE.

Murata's manga series adapts ONE's original web manga of the same name. Murata's manga is currently running on Shueisha's free Tonari no Young Jump spinoff website. Shueisha released the 14th compiled book volume on August 4. The series has 13 million copies in print as of July.

Viz Media is publishing the original manga series digitally on its Weekly Shonen Jump anthology, and it is also releasing the series in print. Viz Media released the manga's 12th compiled volume digitally on July 18 and in print on September 5.

Well same character designs and music and composition, and no cast changes shouldn't be that different. JC Staff is still a great studio. Shouldn't be much to worry about.
