Default Kalank

Kalank Hindi DVD ( All Regions English Subtitles ) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07WPVF2G1

https://www.amazon.in/Kalank-Sanjay-...gateway&sr=8-7

https://www.amazon.com/Kalank-Hindi-...vies-tv&sr=1-2

Well I see Shemaroo has just released the Kalank DVD’s surprised the Blu Ray version hasn’t been released yet but then again it did take them a very very long time to release Padmavaat on DVD and Blu Ray. Sad the film tanked at the box office I didn’t get to see it in Cinemas I know some liked it and a lot of people thought it was rubbish and thought they tried to copy SBL’s Devdas and Bajirao Mastani but then with a period drama that isn’t produced or directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali or Ashutosh Gowariker who are known for specialising in big budget period/historical dramas with outstanding Indian Classical music what more do you expect. I might get the DVD or wait until they release the Blu Ray (after all this is a Blu Ray forum) one reason I might get it is I really loved the music of the film my favourite songs being from the album being Ghar More Pardesiya, First Class and the haunting melody of the Kalank Title track. If people don’t recommend I get it then I’ll stick to watching it on Prime but if you guys have seen it and think it’s worth a more than once please let me know and then I will buy it.

It's not enough for film, but at least it's good enough to enjoy masala fans' nostalgia.
I felt... the film is about to enter the end of the gate of the masala movie era.

Thank You. I suppose your right I know a lot of people thought and said the same it had the potential and should have been a ‘Box office hit’ but was it the plot that let it down and a lot of people did write a reviews saying it’s too much of a ‘masala period drama’ and I don’t think masala and period drama really mix at all I also think many thought that it was a very overambitious project for Karan Johar and Darma Productions as a whole .I think the only saving grace for the film from what a lot of people where saying was the music and rightfully so I think Pritam done an excellent job with the music and I think songs where brilliant and sung beautifully I also love how Pritam managed to keep the classical Indian theme throughout the album yet he also gave it a modern twist to show it's set in 1945. Let’s just hope Karan Johar’s TAKHT isn’t anything like Kalank does well when it comes out next year.

Default So many people who would enjoy this movie don't even know it exists

Love this film. Saw it twice during its brief theatrical run. Second time I brought a couple of friends who don't normally watch Bollywood movies. They were crazy about it. Lavish, romantic, affecting. With lilting, eye-poppingly executed musical numbers and marvelous performances from Alia Bhatt and Sonakshi Sinha. I was shocked when it bombed at the box-office. Hope this doesn't prevent a Blu-ray release.

Thank you for the help. The decisions of buying it or even watching it on prime are still playing on my mind. It’s because of the amount of contrasting views on who loves & hates the film as well as it being a ’Bomb at the Box Office’ and the critics reviews as well as IMDB & Rotten Tomatoes score. My friend saw it on prime and she said she absolutely loved the film and could watch it more than once she especially loved the music. Where as my sister in law (Boudi/Bhabi) saw it in cinema on the day of release she didn’t really like the film and thought it was a one time watch but loved the music. It’s one of those films where the reviews are critical about the story but at the same time people love it for its grand scale and music/dance numbers.
