Years ago a friend of mine was moving a glass/metal coffee table through his living room and pushed up against his LCD TV screen with a sharp jut out edge of the table leg and he said it cut thru the screen like through skin and goo started oozing out like blood

Lol, not sure if he was joking about that or not,... but a plasma screen would only have a scratch on the screen in that case, instead of possibly tearing through that gel screen LCD/LED's have. I've always been afraid of something like that happening to my laptop computer screen too, haha!

Yeah totally understandable, I'm in the Niagara peninsula and pretty much look only at Canuck Audio Mart for used TVs, perhaps Kijiji to a much lesser extent (CAM is more reliable sellers I find).

I will say my OLED is lighter than my VT60 plasma, but a 65" 2017 OLED is still 50lbs heavy without the stand and 57" wide - ain't no-one going to make off with this TV by themselves without a herculean effort. lol

I used to lift 75 to 100# bags on a regular basis at my previous place of employment, and I can very easily pick up a 50# TV by myself without any problem. 50# is nothing to lift for most men. That's why those TVs are easy to walk out with.

It’s all about awkward shapes, grip and leverage. Just carried a 50lb E8 OLED with my dad, no way I’d have attempted it by myself. Too risky.

You just don't know how to do it. It's a certain way to pick it up and carry it. All it takes is skill like everything else.

I don't think you've ever tried a 65", it's the size in combination with the weight that makes it impossible to "easily" walk out with. I can lift my 106lb Paradigm Servo 15v2 and walk with it with less difficulty than a 65" OLED, largely because the sub is cubed. You can only lift the Panny OLEDs from the bottom half of the set or you'll likely break the screen off, it's a very difficult set to try this with unless you're 6'11" with a 7' wingspan.

I wasn't talking about a 65". Nobody can carry a 65" TV by themselves, you'll need two people! I was speaking about a 50" which is much smaller.
