That's what I'm fearing will happen, and what would most likely happen should FUNi not be allowed to license the final Rebuild.

I hope we get a full redub of the Rebuild movies using the Netflix VAs. Only thing that would suck is being without a physical release of the fourth film for a few years.

Does Funimation have more capital now that they're owned by Sony? Not to mention now that it's under new leadership, it wouldn't be a stretch to consider that Sony would have a keen interest in obtaining the 4th Rebuild film - especially since Funimation has licences for all three previous films.

I guess Sony would care more than Starz/Anchor Bay keeping up the division afloat.

I’m hoping GKids licenses 3.0+1.0, their theatrical presentations have been great and very widely released. Funimation no longer even seems interested in theatrical releases.

Oh good, is it Final Fantasy ranking time?!

1. VI - The best video game of all-time. It was one of the very first console games to have well-executed relationships, melodrama, and deeply meaningful narratives. All supported by Yoshitaka Amano's fantasy art direction.

2. IV - pushed the series forward and basically started it all by kicking everything into modern gear. The first early, outstanding game of the SNES/16-bit era.

3. XIV - an MMORPG culmination of basically everything that came before it. An immensely strong successor to 11, and the only worthwhile subscription-based MMO left standing in 2020.

4. VII - The finest modern title for its time, and the definitive, seminal PS1 game release of its life cycle. It was a next generation example of 'games as immersive art'.

5. XII - it incorporated MMO style gameplay, fantastical art direction, and an enormous world to explore with no shortage of hidden secrets, while being the omnipotent all-encompassing effort of the previous decade (2000s).

The one thing that almost all of these games have in common are the immersion and nostalgia driven by their fantastical musical scores. Music is everything. Best video game series of all-time, bar none. Its RPG systems have spread into everything from Call of Duty to Assassin's Creed to Madden.

Also for all of our collectors and importers we have these amazing titles that are able to be imported for the lovely region-free Switch.

Dragon Quest 1+2+3 Collection (Multi-language)

Final Fantasy VII & Final Fantasy VII Remastered Twin Pack (Multi-language) (English Cover)

Presently, that is the only way that you can buy physical versions of these games. The China/ASIA (English) editions that are imported.

I love the modern accessibility of this stuff these days. It's so cool that we got the Collection of Mana in 2019; that concept might have been my favorite game release of the year.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming of discussion of a 24-year-old show that is streaming on Netflix only.

I mean that's literally why we're here, and it's on Blu-ray in Japan

Pretty sure if you want to talk about a 22 year old game you can find a dedicated thread for it.

Which makes the lack of an official NA & EU Blu Ray release all the more frustrating. I'd import it from PlayAsia if it had English subtitles

Noticed this while ripping my BD set. Why are the mastering timestamps on the Standard BD Box in 2019. I thought they'd just reuse the 2015 disc masters.
