I tried to get on there a few minutes ago. Seems to be working now.

But it wouldn't let me get onto it last night.

I have a friend who is friends with someone who works at Zavvi and he stated that they would not be getting the Paramount Centenary steelbooks that are exclusive to Play, so make sure you pick up Transformers. I have also read this on the Hidefninja forums too, that Paramount would not be distributing any of their centenary steelbooks to Zavvi and Amazon, hope this helps.

Do you know why?
Maybe they are closing to going OOS.
I mean, Iron Man 1 & 2, Saving Private Ryan, etc. were also part of the Centenary Steelbooks and those went OOP & OOS a long time ago.

I think War of the Worlds, MI:1 + 2 + 3, Top Gun & Cloverfield will go OOS soon (because of the very nice design & popular movies).

My friend does not know why Zavvi are not getting them, I will try and find out more info, I agree that they are probably close to selling out and maybe they are a much smaller run than the universal range, that are now selling everywhere. I also think Cloverfield will sell out soon, lovely steelbook and I also think Transformers will too.

Still showing in Play.com for £10.99, bargain and you know it comes well packed from them.

The reasoning for zavvi etc not getting the Paramount centenary is because Play took all the stock from the distributors, whilst with the likes of the universal range, they only took part of the stock and when play announced they were closing, the distributors decided to offload the remaining stock with other outlets, hope this helps.

Am I being a bit thick here, but the centenary was 2012. Why would there be any in 2013?

It’s like those idiots who cannot grasp the James Bond 50th anniversary edition is just that, 50 years of Bond was 2012. So if another ‘box set’ is released in 3yrs time with the next Bond film after Skyfall, it is just another box set, but it is not a 50th a.e. set

Is there any info on how many are still in stock (paramount) and how many universal steelbooks are left (how many were produced)

Don't think there is. Zavvi have never done any exclusive steelbooks before anyway. The first one is Who Framed Roger Rabbit thats due out in a couple months.

I finally paid off my new TV in December, so I get an extra £70 a month, that I really should save. But I know I'm gonna blow it on Blu's lol

I've slowed down on the steel collecting. It was putting me in debt so I had to be a bit more picky on what I bought instead of trying to buy every one that came out

I'd buy them if I didn't own them already Thats one of the rules I had to enforce. Except for the Battle Royale Steel. I got that film 3 times on Blu now

I guess I could make a couple hundred off my steels

I wouldn't say any of them were really rare though. Probably get around £50-£60 max for 1 or 2 but the others probably wouldn't draw much attention.
