Ummm... because the stock produced for the centenary in 2012 hasn't sold out yet. It's not like these are being released for the first time in 2013. It's just stock that still needs to sell-thru.

Never has any company divulged these details. The only thing we know for certain is that Scanavo required a minimum 4000 print order at some point about 3 years ago. And, with the business they've been getting recently, who knows what has happened to that requirement? It could have gone down to accomodate more demand (smaller print runs = quicker turnover) or that requirement could have gone up to capitalize on demand (bigger print runs = more profits).

I'm pretty sure that Wreck at HDN has confirmed that all Play.com's exclusives have been limited to 4,000 apart from a few titles such as Star Trek (unknown), The Terminator (5,000) and Prometheus (8,000).

I'm having difficulty paying with PayPal on Zavvi. While going through the Checkout process, I get an error saying "PayPal is currently unavailable. Please pay by an alternative method."

Anyone else have this problem or know a work-around? Thanks.

Zavvi have got Man On Fire, Wolverine, The A Team and Goldeneye steels for £8.95.

They're all pre-orders with a collective release date of 18 Feb.

Which means you would get them some time in mid March

not very think no, very little protection. its ok for domestic shipping and the EU i guess but for long distances your steelbook might be damaged by the time you get it

Thanks! That's what I was looking for. I've seen other posts about bad packaging and just wanted to see how they were currently shipping them out.

I've still got Roger Rabbit on pre-order and may hang onto it a bit longer, but I won't keep it there if their packaging doesn't improve. Especially for over-seas travel

I will make a picture of their packaging.
I think that I'll receive a steelbook from them tomorrow .

Someone else already made a picture of their packaging.

This is how their 'steelbook packaging' (they use the same packaging for everything else) looks like:
