Can't start a new thread yet, so I'm bumping this one.

Yesterday, I put in Devil's Rejects to watch with the audio commentary, and the disc took about 15 minutes just to show up on the dock under video. I own about 160 other movies, and these all load just fine. I've had Devil's Rejects for at least a year, and have watched it multiple times without problems in the past.

I took my copy to Wal-Mart, told em it was defective, and got another copy. Figured it was just a defective disc, but the second took 15 min to load as well. Tried one more exchange, the third disc had the same issue.

Once again, every other movie loads/runs fine. It's just The Devil's Rejects. I'm thinking it might be the new firmware update that's screwing it up, but i have no idea, I dunno how else to explain why that one movie doesnt want to load.

Any help/opinions would be appreciated...

Seems like we have similar issues. I had this disc for over a year and it played fine. I put it in just the other day and it would not play. So I went out and bought a new one and that one played but skipped and freezed up. So I exchanged it again and I seem to be having good luck with the new one. I'm bummed because it seems like the discs may be going bad. I check a whole bunch of my older Lionsgate titles and had the same problem with Basic Instinct. This kind of sucks if a bunch of early pressed titles are going to start going crappy on us. Just figured I add another side to the same situation.

I have the Riddick Trilogy signed by Vin Diesel, Captivity signed by Laz Alonso, SAW III signed by Donnie Wahlberg, Dead Silence signed by Donnie Wahlberg, Pan's Labyrinth signed by Del Toro, and I have more. Some are Blus some are DVDs depending whatever I had my hands on at the time.

I would really love to meet the cast of Devil's Rejects though, I actually would like to meet Sheri Moon just for her in Devil's Rejects. Of course, she's not great in the two Halloween remakes, but Devil's Rejects is Sheri at her best, imo. She did a great job playing a psycho haha.

I've never heard of blu's rotting, just LD's

So....I have forever been looking for a version of The Devil's Rejects with an AVC encode and lossless sound. The German version had something wrong with the audio so that was out.

So I just discovered this today? Does anyone know anything? I looked it up and even found some reviews but I still don't know if it's the Director's cut. The runtime sounds like it could be but then the 15 rating on the cover worries me.

Just tried putting in this movie in my Oppo 203, and also my external blu-ray drive hooked up to my iMac and neither would play. Bummer, gonna try my Samsung F5700 later but don't have much hope.

You probably got the old Lionsgate blu-rays that were failing. Mine failed. You can ask Lionsgate for another, they might. If not they are cheap enough. Im hoping for a UHD personally.

Not sure if this is a film I'd need on UHD considering Zombie's intent on the 16mm look, but let's be real...I'd snatch it up day one as this is probably in my top 5 films of all time.

What I would really like to see is this movie get some special feature love. With 3 From Hell coming soon, now is a perfect opportunity for them to re-release it with Zombie's multi-hour long making of doc, 30 Days in Hell. I'd also be down for at least one retrospective feature, although I don't hold my breath when it comes to studios producing new features.

16mm film is still 3-3.5K. 16mm intent has noting to do with UHD.
