Default Region Free 4k discs with extras in region locked discs. Wtf really

I can't put in words how happy I was when I heard that 4k discs will be region freen. I always had a rough time finding deals and availability of titles in case of standard blu rays because I live in middle east and we are in region B category. Importing from UK is more costly. The price is in pounds and the shipping is huge in pounds too and not all the titles are available for UK market and they are released after a month of initial US release. I had to buy a region A player so I could play Criterion titles.

Then I heard the news that UHD Blu ray discs will be region free and I was like finally my problems ended and I can now import from US each and every title yay. But oh man I was wrong because studios add special features and extras only to the included region locked bd. It pisses me off so much. I believe its only Lionsgate studio which includes the extras in the UHD disc when they have the standard bd region A locked.

Why don't other studios practice the same? When can we have special features included in the 4k disc itself? I still feel like I buy the standard blu ray that has the movie in UHD as a bonus. I don't feel mainstream in 4k to be honest. This is me venting out my frustration. Anyone of you feel the same?

No, I don't feel the same. Rather have as few extras on the 4K disc as possible, for less compression for the feature. Besides, I can easily rip the region-locked Blu-ray.

They use the bd 66. Why not using the bd 100 and include the extras?

Likely costs more than just including a copy of the Blu-Ray which they would already have plenty of stock of.

Not only that, but most extras are shot in 480, 720, or 1080. Unless something is shot in 4K I don't see why it needs to be included on the actual UHD. Now, with that said I do want commentaries on the UHD.

That happened to me with the Princess and the Frog. Watched the UHD. Popped in the Blu to watch the special features. I had my player set to region B and it wasn't having it.
