I can confirm the DMA app did give me a prompt to purchase at Movies Anywhere and link to an invalid play store app though.
I can confirm this is happening on my Android tablet:

This is really happening, most likely today.

Well, we only linked Disney movies and four of the freebies are not Disney movies sooooo

Well that's what I'm saying. You would think we should get the freebies for signing up for MA, which is in effect a new/expanded service... but if we already have DMA we might technically be considered an existing customer and thus not eligible for the freebies.

FYI Disney offered the free titles for linking our Movies Anywhere account to providers not for creating an account.

The Incredibles at DMA launch for linking iTunes and Disney Movies Anywhere

Wreck-It Ralph for linking to Google Play & Vudu when they became available.

Monsters Inc. for linking to Amazon, Microsoft Movies & TV, and Fios when they became available.

But we have only created and linked through our Disney Movies Anywhere account. We haven't created and linked a Movies Anywhere account.

Ya I don't get exactly how this will work. I would like to connect a different amazon account to movies anywhere then the one I have hooked to Disney movies anywhere and I haven't agreed to give information to movies anywhere at all so that should require us to reconnect to all these services...

OK thanks... I was just assuming DMA is morphing into MA but sounds like that is not the case.

Almost all my purchases are from Vudu but I had a secondary account which contains about 10% of my library which was linked to a separate UV account. However, I did merge both UV accounts and all of those titles now appear under my main Vudu account. Will those titles port over or will I need a separate account/login to access them?

I am more worried about just forcing us into movies anywhere without letting us choose our connected accounts. Idk about everybody else but I would like to change my amazon account without having to wait six months.

MA hasn't launched yet. There is no way to definitely know right now what will happen in that scenario.

We, uh, don't know yet. The service isn't even available yet, I based my information on what happened when Disney Movies Anywhere launched. And DMA focused on titles stuck in a greenhouse inside a conservatory inside a walled garden.

Just wait until Movies Anywhere is officially launched for full information.

from the rumors it sounds like you will need to have another app to view everything in one place? Meaning, it might be another waiting game for apple tv to get the app, or possibly Roku (although they seem to get apps much more quickly than apple tv).

It sounds more like KeyChest, which is what it is, where your movies can be viewed on all your connected accounts, like Disney Movies Anywhere. Hence the name, Movies Anywhere.

I believe that the Vudu and iTunes apps should still work. I can't believe Apple would sign on if their standard apps wouldn't work with MA.

I don't think so. That's not how DMA works. There is a central app, but you can also watch any movie from any linked provider. And if you read through here, there are a lot of signs and leaks that indicate MA will work the same, where all of your movies transfer between all of the providers. Most notably, there was an itunes movies anywhere linking page that said "Once connected, all eligible movies will be available in both places."

All just speculation for now, but the safest assumption is that MA will look just like its predecessor rather than change into something different and less convenient. If you look at DMA, all the promotional stuff talks about all your movies being available in one app, but the movies also transferred between retailers.

I've read alot, but can't quite make heads or tails of it...

Is Sony expected to be a part of MA or not?

Disney Movies Anywhere "hosts" the films but you can watch on any linked/connected provider. In a lot of cases, DMA also hosted and streamed exclusive extras not found at any providers. It remains to be seen if this will extend to the other studios under Movies Anywhere.

Here is the link again to the spreadsheet of eligible movies, Sony movies are included.
