I saw this today and had a fun time. That’s what this movie is, a fun time watching ballers do their thing and silly jokes. Doesn’t try to be anything more. Good stuff. I’ll get the Blu-ray when it hits the $9.99 range.

2.5/5

I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it. Love the cast here but this film excels when they’re on the court. Tiffany, Lil Rel and Nick Kroll all pretty much give their usual here. Kyrie was actually really funny and I found Lisa Leslie criminally underused as those chase scenes got boring real quick.

I’d recommend a MoviePass day on it or a sub $10 Blu Buy.

I agree with the above post. I saw it on July 4th, as Marcus was giving 4x reward points.

I know nothing of basketball of late, so all the little 'inside jokes' people are loving fell on my deaf ears. I honestly thought the film was quite formulaic.

Good make up. Haddish was such a b*tch here though.

Tried to see this with MoviePass on July 3 with triple points from Marcus for this and The First Purge before it, but my roomie and I ended up walking out 30 minutes into it due to children running around and a dad (and I think sister) popping up behind me every 5 minutes checking on the kids who were seated next to me and handing them food. What broke the last straw was the girl actually LEANED on my chair startling me half to death as she handed the kid a soda. No apology. No words to acknowledge that I was even there. This was a 10:20 PM showing, mind you. My roomie was getting more and more agitated with a what must've been a 3 year old girl shrieking and stomping around right behind him, too. We complained to staff at the front desk, and they said they would send someone in to check on things. We asked for free passes to return. They obliged, and apologized for the disruption. This is the last time I go on $5 Tuesday to see a movie. Our audience for The First Purge was chatty and commentated by several people, but it was nice tension-breaking since that movie has some WTF moments. But the behavior and the presence of these little kids in a late showing for Uncle Drew was just too much for us to handle.

That was her character though, so she obviously succeeded

Exactly why I avoid $5 day at Marcus like the plague, unless it’s a showing before 10am. People do not care, they think it’s like how they watch movies at home and since it’s only $5 a head, they don’t care.

Yeah, but she still wasn't funny in this, just obnoxious. She's just doing the same schitck here.

Comedy is subjective.

[Show spoiler]My friends and I call it Trashy Tuesday.

We usually don't go on Tuesdays, either, but my roomie and I thought we'd give it a shot. I'll be doing a double-header next Tuesday afternoon with my sister since I'm off, and she opted for repeat viewings of Incredibles 2 and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. It'll be here third and second times, respectively, whereas it'll be my fourth and third times.

Nah, stereotypes are just generalizatioms based on commonalities that contain a lot of truth.

Racism is thinking one race is superior to another. I don't see orange soda, or most, stereotypes falling under that umbrella.

Hilarious! I really can't believe Kyrie could pull this off but he was great as were the other basketball greats in this film.
