Correct, battery is only a handheld factor. A nonissue for you in that case.

Yeah the extended battery life is in handheld mode. As long as you're using it docked then you're good, I'm the same way.

[cross-posted in video game deals topic] If you know of anyone who wants a chance at a Nintendo Switch, or just can't afford it, here's a good free contest:

https://www.lunchablessweepstakes.com/

This sweeps/giveaway by Lunchables just opened up its online AMOE, meaning it is free for everyone to enter without having to make a purchase. Ends 11/30/2019. Go to the: * Click here to see how you can request a code without making a purchase.

I am unsure if you can get one online AMOE entry per day, or if you only get one for the rest of the entry period (11/14 to 11/30), so choose wisely and report back if you can get one code per day.

Prizes:

NINETY-ONE (91) GRAND PRIZES: Each winner will receive one (1) Nintendo Switch system and download codes for the digital version of twelve (12) games as chosen by Sponsor. Approximate Retail Value of each Grand Prize ("ARV"): $1,020.00.

FIVE HUNDRED (500) FIRST PRIZES: Each winner will receive one (1) Nintendo Switch system and winner's choice of two (2) games from a list provided by Sponsor. ARV of each First Prize: $420.00.

TOTAL ARV OF ALL PRIZES: $302,820.

Limit: One (1) Instant Win Game prize per person.

So, stupid question, as I've been out of gaming for ages. The two games I have wanted to play for awhile now, are of course Mario Kart, and been wanting to check out this Friday The 13th game as well.

I see the bundle COMES with Mario Kart, but it's a download only? So you don't get the actually hard copy then?

And I did see Friday The 13th is out for Switch and will be $20 at Wal-Mart on BF.

Is it worth it? Likely only play these two games for awhile, unless they made a new Star Wars Battlefront. That was pretty much the only game I'd play on my PS2, last system I owned about 2 decades ago.

Only downside to the MK8 bundle is that it's the old switch model that has a shorter battery life than the latest model. If you arent bothered by that go for it.

I'd probably only play it at home anyways.

Friday the 13th is ok. You will get tired of it quickly though and it matters how many people are playing online since it's primarily multiplayer. I don't know how active it is on Switch. It's grindy to get all the skins. The offline challenges are fun and based on the movies. But they're short and will get old after a few run-throughs. Not saying don't get it, but it's not a reason to buy a Switch. Honestly, I'd suggest getting the 2 games you mentioned and Zelda Breath of the Wild. Your purchase will be justified and you will be set for good long while. Also, the cartridges are a bit of a pain to deal with. Carts are small and the port cover is flimsy. So put a good sized microsd card in the Switch and go digital. Your games all go with you and no switching them out. The old Switch also has a dimmer screen along with the weaker battery. I'd only get the new version.

Would getting FRIDAY on say, a PS4, be a better option? I love Mario Kart, but also loved Battlefront, so getting 2 of those 3 games is the objective.

Well the community would be larger for Friday the 13th. It was a PSN monthly freebee last year around Halloween. So lots of people have it. There's more Star Wars games on PS4. Battlefront 2 has been fixed since launch and fine tuned. More content still coming for it too. It's very fun in it's current state. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled would be a great alternative to Mario Kart. It has very good reviews.

My plan for BF is Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Crash Racing, and Splatoon 2.
