Oh, so QD-OLED will only be on the higher end Sonys. I'm honestly relieved. Thought I might have buyer's remorse with my A80K.

Sony does not disclose any of the components. We will discuss the processors once the 2023 TVs are released.

I am assuming you’re not permitted to say, but is there any indication when Sony will reveal more details?

I am itching for a new TV and would prefer the L series for the gaming features.

Any chance Sony or LG will offer a reference OLED screen that offers high brightness with pure RGB pixels like the Samsung S95C series? Any future Sony or LG OLED screen will be compared to the top of the like flagship Samsung S95C. So far no OLED screen offers a better picture quality then the Samsung S95C.

Sound and Vision magazine test results confirm that Samsung is now King of OLED picture quality. Maybe in late 2023 Sony or LG will release something that is better..

@JoeJr81, starting May 8th I'll be able to release some of Sony's new 2023 "L Series" TVs prices and launch dates.

@HDTV1080P, I consider LG's G3 as a Reference OLED Display along with Samsung's new S95C and Sony's A95L.

LG's new 2023 G3 has the Micro Lens Array that very naturally increases the peak luminance of the RGB and White pixels so it preserves all of the color saturation and color volume. The G3 also has a new heat sync, new OLED module and the a9 Gen 6 more powerful processor with a lot of new features and video processing enhancements.

This year’s 2023 video test result shootout at Value Electronics will be a interesting one. So far Sound and Vision magazine test results are showing the Samsung S95C series is the abosulte best quality picture compared to any other OLED released so far. Maybe Sony or LG will have some surprises later in the year.

@HDTV1080P, do you not know that Sony's top OLED for this year, the A95L is using the Samsung Display QD-OLED panel, so same tech used in the S95C? Sony did the same last year with their A95K model. So Sony's A95K panel would have been what was used in Samsung's S95B. Perhaps Sony didn't designate last years A95K as a Master Series so you dismissed it out right thinking the A90J was Sony's best OLED which was a carry over from the previous year??

Sony's A80L OLEDs use LG Display's W-OLED panels and is the same panel tech used in last years A80K and A90J.

Both the QD-OLED and W-OLED panels have been updated for this year. As it concerns LG, particularly the G series from 55 - 77" inch sizes have seen more than the typical year over year small upgrades due to introducing MLA in their panels.

As is always the case there will be pros and cons to each technology once we see reports comparing all 3 displays properly calibrated. Their strengths and weaknesses will be revealed.

Today, Thursday, June 1 we'll have YouTube Channel Owner, Brian's Tech Therapy in our store to film two more of Sony's new 2023 TVs, the 77" A80L OLED TV and the 85" X95L.

We'll have these new TVs by them selves and butt next to other new TVs for comparison.

Pro calibrator, D-Nice will be visiting us tomorrow we'll ask him to take some measurements.

Anyone in here own this TV? My panel died on my Sony X90J and Best Buy is going to warranty it out. Thinking about finally going OLED.

Hey Robert,

Any updates on pricing for the 77A80L? I know that it's currently on sale for $3299. Just wasn't sure if you can share how long that price will be or if there will be a steeper drop very soon.

Thanks in Advance!
