I just got these a few days ago after ordering them on Amazon Prime Day:
http://www.psbspeakers.com/products/...U-8-Headphones I've been going easy on them for a while to break them in. I'm gonna let 'er rip soon with the genre that I enjoy the most, Hard Rock. |

Although these are in a class above above the V-Moda's that I'm replacing, they definitely sound better. Even with Bluetooth connected, the highs are more crisp and the bass is deeper.
I like having the selector switches on the right side and already know which one I'm wanting to use: Volume, ANC (or amplified w/o ANC) and mute. The bluetooth range is good. I can walk around the living room while my phone is in the bedroom. I'll be flying in just over a week and will check out how the ANC works with that. |

I don't know anything about Bluetooth APTX and apperantly the source has to have it as well. My Macbook does, but my iPhone 7 doesn't. I hope the new iPhone coming has it or I'll have to find another gadget to store my music on.

My step-son's Pixel 2 XL has aptX so I did a comparison between that and my iPhone 7. I listened to HellYeah's cover of I Don't Anymore on the Pixel 2 via Spotify Premium and it sounded great! I then listened to the same song on my iPhone via iTunes, which I believe is 256k, and the difference is significant. The aptX was much better.
I then searched the net for any rumours on the upcoming iPhones to see if aptX will be on them and it doesn't look good at all for that. Apple is involved in some lawsuit and is likely to support only their AAC. I wanted to listen to these great headphones wirelessly via Bluetooth aptX, but because my phone doesn't have it, and never will, I will get better sound wired. It's gonna be too tough to listen via plain old Bluetooth, knowing that I can get better sound if I find a different device. I'll have to search around for something better, but affordable. I'll have to be sure that I can get my iTunes music onto whatever I find. I've ripped and bought all of the music on my iTunes and don't want to do that process again. I want to enjoy these great headphones to their fullest capabilities. |

Shanling M0 DAP...$110 and phenominal sounding. Supports AAC, aptX, LDAC, and SBC bluetooth codecs, also can do DSD. Love mine - I use it as source for my headphone DAC mostly, but also pair my B&O H7 via aptX sometimes.

Two and a half years later, my headphones may have bitten the dust.
The batteries quit charging, which shouldn’t be unusual. But I got some regular AAA’s and that worked briefly, then didn’t. With two different fresh sets of batteries. I used a lightening to 3.5 cable and that didn’t work well at all. Just a few seconds then quit. I gotta get ahold of PSB and find out if I can send it them in for repair. I’ll get the ear cups replaced while at it. These headphones have been pretty great and I’d love to have them working like they were before. If they can’t be fixed, I’ll seriously consider getting another one. But I should look around and see what else is out there that may be as good or better. |
