A thread dedicated to Exploitation/Cult Cinema and its subgenres on Blu-ray!

Orgy of the Dead is enjoyable if you like campy nudie cuties no matter your preference IMO...

I really need to revisit that Image set, it's been years.

Is that the pink box with the squid tentacles on it?? I seem to remember that the DVD releases for Ed's stuff in that box were pretty rough (although not unwatchable).

I actually have a lot of his stuff on DVD through Legend Films (which have remastered B&W and colorized versions on them). I have found those releases to be the best DVD releases so far.

Legend also released Plan 9 From Outer Space on Blu-ray which I also have (which I think is now out of print). That scan was really well done - and it has a colorized option as well.

I'm just gonna come right out and say it though...

Why there has not been an Ed Wood Blu-ray box set done by any boutique is an absolute travesty!

I mean if we can get one done for Al Adamson and (reportedly) Andy Milligan...then why the hell can't we give Ed Wood that same love??

As far as Orgy Of The Dead goes... it is a stupid f###ing movie. But I love it! And as I posted earlier this week in another forum... it is the perfect "background" movie to have on while having an (albeit adult) Halloween Soiree at your home...

Great idea for a thread. It'd also be a great place to get recommendations and opinions on recently announced titles plus questions about the more obscure movies which might otherwise go unanswered in some of the fast moving label threads.

I'd give all y'all thumbs up, but lost my rights sometime last night

Ohh... and I thought the new Aladdin sucked.

Looked like a stage play. Things like you could tell the street people were wearing makeup supposed to look like dirt. Presentation looked fake. However the female lead was scrumptious

. I'll be getting it on blu.

Their releases are top notch... I have their release of Corman's The Terror... which beats the heck out of the more flashy looking HD Cinema Classics release (which was plagued with DNR).

The only drawback is that they often use BD-R's for their releases (so if you're "against" that then it may be a problem for you). I'm not, however, so I would highly recommend them!

I left a really large Cult/Exploitation group on FB a year ago when I left FB due to a fight with one of the mods ( I was one at the time) and these are the type of movies we went over. I have missed that type of atmosphere for a while. Look forward to seeing what the discussions lead to.

So let me address this now... this is exactly what we're going for with this thread. We want this to be the no BS zone. We're all adults here... all that is asked is that we respect each other (that doesn't mean we can't disagree - I'm sure there will be plenty of that - that's what makes the thread/conversation interesting) and have fun talkin' about the great, wide genre of exploitation/cult/horror/erotic/trash/low-budget/etc.... or as I call it "Cinéma Fantastique".

So welcome everyone!
