It is clearly upscaled, but at the same time it's the best quality I've seen. I'll be ordering it |

It looks like they are definitely a big jump in quality over the DVDs, which were littered with digital artifacts such as macroblocking in the earliest seasons. It would have been nice to get Seasons 1-7 in true 1080p HD, but for a budget-priced release, this isn't bad. VEI definitely could have done worse.

The screenshots look very polished. Seems the Digital Noise Reduction process they used killed most of the fine detail.
For people looking for best quality versions of seasons 1-7, these AI-upscaled restorations look much better with meticulous fine detail and grain retention: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stargate/co...d_restoration/ Last edited by ToASTER; 12-23-2020 at 02:25 AM. |

Oh man, I'm so excited for this. What sites do I need to look out for that usually ship to the UK?

I just strolled on the forum after being away for a few weeks and my wish has come true that this TV series is finally on Blu-ray in one form or another. I just placed an order on Amazon and shows delivery between 12/30 - 1/7. The price sucks for sure on this since it isn't being put out by a larger studio like MGM or another even as small as Mill Creek. I guess at the $130 price tag, I'll take it and try to sell off my DVD's making up some of the cost.

With the back-to-back SG-1 and Atlantis Blu-Ray releases I'll admit I'm getting my hopes up. Presumably they'd do a complete series Blu-Ray for Universe, which would be slightly annoying to repurchase season 1, but if it means season 2 on Blu-Ray I can't complain too much.

I'm in no rush to upgrade. I think I need to see full size side by side comparisons between the older DVDs and the new blu-rays before I could possibly make a decision. I just have to see directly how much detail has been lost in making those super clean images.
