Question Have 2 LG Players (One 4k UHD, the other a region free) Having Remote issues.

Greetings folks,

Just a quick enquiry, ran into an issue I foolishly did not anticipate. I have an LG 4K UHD player (Region A). I recently received a region free standard blu ray player from 220 electronics and the remotes are identical and they don't differentiate between players.

For example opening disc tray on one also opens the second, etc. The only fix I have been able to implement at this point is unplugging one player from power outlet when using the other.

Anyone else had this issue?

Any suggestions/feedback would not go unappreciated.

I don't think the LG's offer different command code options, so you're unable to use both remotes.

The only thing I can suggest is the App (Google Play Store) for one of your players (it should differentiate from each one) and use your phone for one player and the remote for the other one.

If you're having issues, I guess you can disconnect one player from your network.

Since you're not using both players at the same time you could simply use something like a piece of blutac, card or sticker over the remote sensor on the player that you can move to the player your not using. You could easily fashion something cool that takes just a second to toggle from one player to the other.

I have the same exact set up. Yes, it's a bit of a nuisance. I generally keep the region free player unplugged unless I plan on viewing Region B discs. Otherwise you have to use the remote in weird angles so the other player doesn't register those commands.

Edit: Eibon has a more workable solution, thanks for that.

I use a smart power strip like this. It has an app to toggle which outlet is live. Very convenient for dealing with situations like this.

A belated thank you to the advice offered here - I am having the same issue with my Sony UBP-X700 and region-free BDP-S3700, and Sony's customer service has been utterly unhelpful. Sounds like the only solutions really are either only having power going to one player at a time, or covering the sensor on one or the other player. Too bad, you'd think the remotes would be programmable to a specific device!
