Did anyone else notice that SAM-104's voice is identical to Marcy from Peanuts? "Yes sir, no sir." I literally couldn't unhear it the whole movie

Transfer looked great by the way. Heaps better than the last release. I really hope we're getting new scans of Battle Beyond the Stars and Death Race because the new transfers on all these releases have been top notch.

I totally agree. "Mutant" really doesn't do anything for me. The theatrical cut of "Forbidden World" is perfectly entertaining by itself. Terrific transfer too!

Caps-a-holic images show that the original version is darker overall, whereas the screenshots on this site show the remastered version is darker. Which is the accurate one?

I wouldn't say there's a large difference in brightness between the old and new. The difference comes in the color grading, the detail, the clarity, and other areas. It's a night and day improvement from the old release. There's likely no discrepancy whatsoever between this site's caps, and Caps-A-Holic's caps, they're just different shots of the film

My point is that when you do a side-by-side comparison of the caps-a-holic screenshots, the remastered version looks consistently brighter, but a side-by-side comparison of the screenshots on this site (original vs remastered, some of them are identical images) shows the remastered version to be consistently darker, with some loss in shadow detail in the images. There's no question that detail on the remastered version is superior as is the color grading, but that's beside the point.

leeon0 is correct about the brightness, if you look at the scene where dawn dunlap is naked in the steambath and getting ready to kiss mike, you can see her feet when she kneels over to kiss him a lot clearer in the old version, and its darken out more on the new one..

This remastered 2019 steelbook release (new 4k scan) of Forbidden World really does blow away the original 2010 release. The caps online don't do it justice. Looks even better in motion. Lighting, detail, color, highlights.....it's leaps and bounds ahead. Much more filmic on my 75" OLED. Makes the dated transfer used for the old disc look a tad like a dvd.

Hopefully we'll see the same sort of PQ upgrade when the Pumpkinhead steelbook rolls out in October with its fresh 4k scan!!!!

For a second there, I thought this was a Forbidden Zone steelbook.

I would kill for a Forbidden Zone steelbook.

For those who don't know, Shout is having a Corman sale! So, if you don't want to pay outrageous prices on EBAY or Amazon for this (or another) jump on this now.
