Back then it was more related to HBO Max. Zack also approved the Blu-ray box not so long ago.

I hope he meant the Blu-ray [mother]box that also includes his Justice League.

I think they released another trailer or two after that gave a better impression, but it was too late by then.

Anyway, I went in with not much expectations of it being good, but I came away from that first screening really liking a lot. I had an awesome audience too, who were fully into it, which made the experience even better. I'm not a huge modern comedy fan, but I thought they did a nice balance between modern comedy, while also paying tribute to what made the original such a classic too. I also liked the nods to the original casting too. And really, Kate McKinnon is comedy gold like she's always been.

I think it's an easy punching bag of a movie considering the all female team, and the attempt at remaking a bonafide classic. Some people are going to hate it no matter what, perhaps even without seeing any of the film.

edit: I decided to look up my first impressions after that initial trailer (posted March 2016):
I donít know how the GB16 movie got mentioned in this thread but man. I couldnít disagree more. That movie is AWFUL.

The original is a classic. The sequel is vastly underrated. But that remake/reboot? Man. It was complete garbage. The original is a comedy but it also takes things seriously. In the reboot, thereís no tension or suspense anywhere. Everything is undercut by the constant yammering improv. That Judd Apatow improv style works for some movies but not Ghostbusters. But even beyond the comedy...the story is terrible. The original had some cool made up mythology & deals with ancient gods & other dimensions. The villain here was no threat. He wasnít ďscaryĒ. Then thereís the actors. I donít mind the female thing. But I just didnít feel the chemistry like you do with the original. McCarthy is kind of annoying in this movie. Itís like everyone of them is trying to be Venkman with the jokes & delivery. Plus Thor as the idiot assistant is...wow. Too over the top.

If you are going to remake/reboot a movie? Donít do it unless you can improve on whatís already been done. With GB that was never going to happen. But not only did they not even come close to matching what had been done, they actually ended up making one of the worst reboots ever made. You could hear a pin drop when I saw this in theatres. Just silence.

Hopefully they got it right with the 3rd one coming out(maybe?) later this year.

I am still not clear if those of us who own the UE on digital now will get a free upgrade to the updated UE.

My guess is no, and it'll be available separately as a "Remastered" edition, but I'd love to be wrong.

Look for it on 4k Ultra HD &.........[BOX]

You'd think a big corporation would figure out how to use YouTube at this point.

I watched the BvS extended edition recently on BD.

Then later, I brought up the VUDU version to show something quickly to the wife.

But the odd thing was that the VUDU version (even in HD) already had the IMAX ratio.

I watched the opening and then skipped ahead to Knightmare and it was window-boxed.

I don't have the 4K version and redeemed my code for this movie years ago.
