A nightmare to get hold of here in the UK... S or X
My preference is the X. Just want to be able to get one around the same time I get one of the new 2021 OLED's.

Not a dickie bird from StockInformer for weeks!!

So for those who have an X, whats the 4K UHD player like on it?

I’m not an A/V guy so can’t offer much in terms of quality, but the disc drive on the X is pretty damn loud during BR/UHD playback. Much more so than the PS5’s which sucks as I’d rather use the XSX as it works with my Harmony remote.

Thanks @dmaul1114, that's the general consensus that I'm hearing about the drive on the XBX SX, that's it fairly loud. Not the best when trying to watch quieter movies.

Thankfully, when I do eventually get one, it'll be in my home office and be used mostly in the evenings and nights in combination with some decent noise-cancelling headphones.

I'll be vain and say I want to wait for a unique/special color or something before I entertain a Series X. So that's going to be a wait. That, or I guess titles which really motivate me. The GTA V remaster could be it.

I believe the review of it on this site is that it's the same one as in the Xbox One, and as an Xbox One X owner I agree it's not terribly quiet. At the same time I don't find it particularly distracting, and so opinions may vary. It doesn't have HDR10+ or DolbyVision though so combined with the noise it's not going to rival a solid dedicated 4K player.

I'd love to get one now in place of having missed the whole One generation, but I'm worried the current system is still hot enough to roast a sausage wiener over.

The air coming out of it gets pretty warm, but that just means it's actually doing it's job to keep it from overheating. Obviously the smoking pictures and videos were fake.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the actual temperature the system gets when the "experts" like Digital Foundry did their videos is actually cooler than the PS5. It's been a while since I watched anything about that.

I'd get one right now if I could find one for the official price. Alas, scalpers are having the time of their lives.

Same here. I want the Series X, but it looks like the Series S is the only console available near me.
