Yeah I decided to just install normal carpet, still looking at pricing and types or carpet.

I think traditional carpet is the way to go, unless you plan on big parties where you think your guests will trash the place and you may need to replace the tiles! A good scotch guard should work fine on a normal carpet in most situations.

We carpeted last year and that is probably the most remarked upon thing in the theatre/basement. Hardly anyone does carpet anymore, everyone loves the engineered hardwood or other types of flooring. When we were getting quotes on the basement all the companies looked at us like we had two heads when we said we wanted carpet... saying no one does that anymore and it will hurt resale or we were on our own if we wanted carpet.

I love carpet in a basement personally, not only for acoustics but for warmth and feel.

Just a quick update.

We got the carpet installed.

All that's left is floorboards some touch up paint (wall plates, white shelves etc..) and the projector

Then comes the bar.

Got this screen for $50 and the guy threw in a projector that doesn't look terrible, which will hold me off until I buy a Sony 4k one.

I was looking in this thread, but had not seen any updates.

Some killer equipment! Will be excited to see the transformation and differences between theater 1 and 2. Can’t wait!

So I ran into a small roadblock.

I have 112" from speaker box to speakerbox, I want to do a 135" screen, but that requires 118", Im thinking of creating a frame that sticks out.

Does anyone have any ideas, on how to create one that works well?

So doing some last minute modifications, we're installing some extra added sound proofing between each layer of sheetrock.

The ceiling will have to use green glue, since since this material is too heavy for the ceiling.

Made the mistake of cutting corners in my first cinema. Learned a lot, and preventing similar mistakes.

Got the 1st coat of paint done, carpet comes in on Thursday, so this should hopefully be done by the end of the week.

The cinema chairs are about 4-6 weeks on backorder, so there might be a delay on updates after the room is done.

For the Screen i'm installing this one:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But will have to build some sort of frame since the screen is wider than the gap between the speaker boxes, but finding it difficult to figure out how to make it work.
