The Ackbar bit cracked me up. I see there's no Luke though?

Looks like they're trying to set it before A New Hope, so it could just be sticking to the characters who actually would have a role in that timeline.

What I don't get is that some of the characters are kids...

Problem is Green, Meyer and the rest dont do PG or G very well. I do love their sarcastic take on the Emperor and they do really get SW. They just work better in a less restricted environment.

I pretty much figured that was unlikely once Disney bought it... Lucas was pretty generous with allowing people to make parodies and stuff and even worked with some people on their Star Wars takeoffs... but I can't imagine Disney doing that. They are going to want to do everything in house.

Don't be surprised if Robot Chicken and others are asked to "cease and desist" their use of Star Wars characters going forward.

Robot Chicken is parody. Disney cannot legally make them cease and desist.

Yeah, and he totally ruined this year's Oscars!

(What? Oh, like YOU can tell all those Seths on Cartoon Network apart either...)

Sure they can... Remember the Beavis & Butthead sketch from season one that was not able to be released on the season one DVD release?

They aren't just doing Parody on Robot Chicken... they are using actual licensed action figures in their stop-motion animation studio.

IF they could do a parody without using Star Wars licensed merchandise, then yeah... they would be protected by parody precedence... but they need permission to use the official Star Wars merchandise, and I bet Disney will fight that.

The designs are based on licensed figures, but Robot Chicken custom makes their figures for animation.

Now that Disney+ is up and running, they should just put this up over there.

A report has surfaced that claims this show is getting a Disney+ release soon. Absolutely nothing there to verify it though, but the rumour is spreading now so we might as well discuss it!
