I am really shocked at what they got their hands on!

It appears Shout got The Doors and Neil Young! Wonder Years couldn't get these!

I knew we wouldn't get Pink Floyd so I made my peace with that... but this is a tremendous list... now anyone out there know what we are missing?

Shouts early release 9/23 preorder has been delayed until Oct 9th

I think since it really isn't that much earlier then getting it thru amazon which is still cheaper I am going to cancel my Shout pre-order.

Shout Factory has slid the date a bit - Order this title from ShoutFactory.com and get FREE standard U.S. shipping EARLY on 10/9. (Note: due to production delays this item will not be available on 9/23 as originally planned.)

Not official but here is a list of songs in and songs out for each episode....Songs included are highlighted in pink and songs left out are in white.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1213980441

As mentioned before, It seems Pink Floyd's "Dogs" is the biggest omission. A tweet by Brian Ward says the scene (from Turkeys Away) is still included but with a different track (but still had dogs barking) Other big names not on the list: The Beatles,Michael Jackson,The Eagles,The Kinks & Robert Palmer to name a few.

Good news is Les & Hot Blooded are together again and Elton John's Tiny Dancer makes its return

If that list is anywhere close to accurate, this is a massive failure.

Of 255 tracks listed, 102 are missing! That's 40% missing!

Some essential songs not there:

Dogs - Pink Floyd
Surfin' USA - The Beach Boys
Too Wild To Tame - The Boyzz
YMCA - The Village People
Danke Schoen - Wayne Newton
Straight On - Heart
The National Anthem - Francis Scott Key

Fly Me To The Moon - (Jennifer's doorbell)
The Star Spangled Banner
Theme from Patton
Jealous Man - Hoyt Axton
Della And The Dealer - Hoyt Axton
Theme from Star Wars - John Williams
Bad Case Of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor) - Robert Palmer
I Am Woman - Helen Reddy
Jingle Bell Rock - Brenda Lee
Jingle Bells - Barking Dogs
Merry Christmas Baby - Chuck Berry
The Long Run - Eagles
Whip It - Devo
Space Truckin' - Deep Purple
You Really Got Me - The Kinks
Jive Talkin' - The Bee Gees
Every Night - Paul McCartney
Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles
I Will Follow - U2
We Just Disagree - Dave Mason
Imagine - John Lennon (lyrics read)
Papa's Got A Brand New Bag - James Brown
Come Together - The Beatles
Chariots Of Fire - Ernie Watts

bold titles are from The Contest Nobody Could Win

Also, weren't the original Hoyt Axton songs included in the 1st season by Fox?

I assume the Hoyt Axton episode will be ok....the whole episode was Hoyt! lol.

Mr. Carlson reading the lyrics to Imagine by Lennon should be ok as well.

Brian Ward tweeted that the list released by shout! included "some" of the artists....but that confuses me...why not list every artist shout! got?

Looks like The Contest Nobody Could Win suffers the most. Bummer.
Lots of great stuff did make it though. Cool.

People seem to be spotting WKRP and Welcome Back Kotter for 57.99!

Found the set today at my local St Louis Park / 394 area MN costco location.

Costco item # 943272

The show is hilarious and since you are new to it - you won't have the burden of knowing what songs are missing unless you look them up and research it. So don't do that and go in blind - the show is really good.

What types of tv shows do you enjoy?

As long as you enjoy 70s/early 80s comedy you should be fine. Taxi, Soap, Buffalo Bill, etc are similar.

I grabbed WKRP tonight at Costco. I couldn't pass it up for the $58 price. They had two copies of it on the shelf (one of which was already in my cart when I took the pic below), and about 3 or 4 of Kotter. I don't know if they had more elsewhere, but this is what I saw. I may get Kotter later on, but WKRP was the bigger priority for me.

So far, I've watched the first two seasons. And I'm pretty happy with this box set. Horror stories of hatchet job editing and overdubbing have proven overblown from what I can tell.

I did read something somewhere about an alternate ending being used for one episode. But, being as young as I was when I originally saw any of these episodes, I either never saw that episode or had no memory of it to compare here.

Either way, I love this set!

Watching the series is so much fun, enjoyed it a lot more than I imagined I would have. Really great set. For those that don't want to splurge on a full box set Shout are going to be releasing seperate seasons for 1 + 2 in March.
