I have been waiting years for this news...

The action and fun continue with Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox returning as California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers Francis “Ponch” Poncherello and Jon Baker in 24 road-ripping episodes. Also returning, Robert Pine as amiable Sgt. Getraer. So pull it over, pal, and dig out that license and registration because CHP officers Jon and Ponch are on patrol. Remember, safety first … and always signal before turning. The excitement and adventures are non-stop in this 5-disc collection.

I just got an email from WBShop today about the CHiPs Season 3 DVDs I backordered...

Dear Valued Customer,

I went to their website to see what was going on and the CHiPs Season 3 DVD no longer appears anywhere. I'm writing Roxanne back to see what the #&%* is going on.

I'm hoping they didn't cancel the release or they just got their listings messed up

Hoping it is just a site error. Amazon still has the set listed.

I wrote WB back the same day I got my email:

Hi Roxanne,

I pre-ordered the CHiPs Season Three DVD set that's due to come out March 3, 2015. I just got your email that it's no longer available and the WBShop website isn't showing it anymore. What's going on with it? Has it suddenly been cancelled?

I appreciate any information you can share.

Thank you

I just received a very vague reply that answered none of the questions in my email. I've got a bad feeling about this...

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WB Shop.

Since the item you pre-ordered is no longer available we have cancelled your order. We are very sorry for this inconvenience. Since your order never shipped you were never charged. Any charges you see on your account are pre-authorization charges and will be dropped shortly.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Regards,

Chyanne

I' going to try again with this:

Hi Chyanne,

I appreciate your response, but it didn't answer any of my questions. What's going on with the CHiPs Season Three set? Has it been cancelled for release or delayed some?

If your just going to respond to me with another vague form email, don't bother sending it.

Thanks

I figure I would wait to see it WB re-lists it on their site. Amazon still has it fully listed. I would bet it is a WB shop issue. Hoefully it isn't canceled.

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon, but it hasn't shipped yet. Granted, I always choose the cheapest way to ship, so I'm expecting to get it next week.

Looks to be stores don't have it, in store. Today when I was at one of the near by Barnes and Noble in the San Francisco Bay Area. They didn't have it in store. I asked a worker, she checked the store computer it not even listed there. But on their website, it say Available for Pick Up In Store. I clicked on it and typed in my zip code. It say the store has it. Did that yesterday and twice today at different times. But they do have second and third season in store. Even my local mom and pop new and used DVD/Blue Ray and music store Amoeba Music, they don't have in store. Also FYE does not have in store. Best Buy don't have it in store just like their website say Not Available for Pick Up In Store. Unlike the first two season they had it in store.

Guess I have to wait a bit and check the stores again to see did they get it in. Like in three or four days.

Mine finally shipped on Thursday and I received it the next day. My wife and I sat down on the couch and watched the first four episodes last night. I love that the show is a perfect balance of action, humor, and drama (and hot 70's chicks!). People might consider it a hokey show nowadays, but it's fun to watch and sure beats reality TV.

I'm not sure yet if I'm going to get either the six season sets or the complete series set of CHiPs, but I'm thinking about it (have seen bits of a few first season episodes the past few weeks (Forces TV, which has been repeating The Equalizer, is showing CHiPs in the early hours of the morning on some days of the week (usually at the weekend). The transfers look quite good, but the MGM Television logo looks a bit ropey.

Hey guys, I just began rewatching the show on the first pressing WB DVDs. I also found out I have the first season on UK DVDs as well, and while I haven't compared the image, the UK version's PQ is just normal, not really cleaned up, with the yellow titles bleeding a bit and the end credits MGM roaring lion being pretty bad.
Any change that the complete series box set has different transfers? I mean, I've seen the show on tv recently and it looks great, although it's not the first season, so chances are later seasons look better in their initial transfer anyway?

Eventually, I may still get the complete series set (the American release). I'm sure I saw the first two seasons in my local HMV branch later on last year. Either the first two or three seasons were released on DVD here (I don't think all of the series was released).

I've been watching the occasional episode of the series on Forces TV. A couple of weekends ago, they started showing the penultimate, fifth season. The transfers on the whole haven't looked faded (the yellow font with the credits don't look faded either). The closing MGM logo still looks rough though.
