Please no.
I love TBBT and I think the latest season is back on form, but Sheldon: Origins is just no.

If you saw the later seasons, I can understand why you didn't think it was funny. Check out the first 3 seasons. When Blossom entered the show, it was downhill from there. The show was funny when the guys didn't have significant others and were a bunch of desperate nerds doing a lot of nerd things and dealing with Sheldon's issues. I understand with sitcoms the characters have to evolve and change, but a show that started with the premise of making fun of four desperate nerd scientists and then they eventually make them no longer desperate (along with adding annoying female characters), the shows loses quite a bit of it's appeal and becomes more of a typical sitcom. A Sheldon prequel series might be better than the show in its current state. Getting back to young desperate nerds doing a lot of nerd things and dealing with Sheldon's issues, if well written & acted, could be good.

CBS announced their schedule and Young Sheldon got the post-Big Bang Theory slot on Thursdays at 8:30 ET. It will premiere on Monday, September 25, then be off for a little over a month until CBS is done with Thursday Night Football and start in it's regular time slot on November 2. For whatever reason The Big Bang Theory hasn't been a very good lead-in over it's life and hasn't spawned any hits so we'll see if a spin-off/prequel featuring a character from TBBT changes that.

Is it just me or did nearly every scene in that trailer have a slow zoom?

Zero funny moments in that trailer, so at least it will be consistant with Big Bang.

I love how some people are all butthurt about the existence of a show connected to a series they don't even like.

Looks better than I expected. Little Sheldon is spot on and Laurie Metcalf's daughter looks and sounds just like her. My only complaint is that Sheldon's dad is played by the same actor who played Leonard's old high school bully. Just odd to see.

Sheldon is barely worth watching in his own show. I don't think a spin-off is warranted...

I didn't hate the pilot for Young Sheldon. I liked that they changed it up and made it a single cam rather than a multi-cam like The Big Bang Theory. It was in no way an amazing show but I found it enjoyable enough and will keep watching it.

Yeah, not "awesome" but I kid of liked it. I thought that the young actors were pretty good. I'm curious to see what kind of stories they can tell with this and how limited they can be.

Wow surprised I didnt hate this. In fact it was way better than the BBT premier that was on.

I enjoyed this almost immediately.
Of course I'm not looking at it as only an off-shoot of BBT, but as it's own family show that just happens to be about a familiar character.
I started watching it with no expectations and now have high hopes for it.

While I generally dislike single-camera sitcoms (I prefer the traditional three-camera style for its live stage play-like feel), I liked this a lot. Then again, I'm a huge Big Bang Theory fan, so it almost would have had to go out of its way to make me dislike it. The kid playing Sheldon is great and it's amazing how much Laurie Metcalf's daughter is able to channel her as Mary.

Not sure why they didn't just start this now instead of November after it was pushed up from mid-season, but I'll definitely be watching when it returns.

I was pleasantly surprised as well. Felt like a completely different show as opposed to The Big Bang Theory so kuddos for going the route they did.

Was odd!!! I think the kid doing Sheldon is not so good as they sold him...

The acting skills are on the sister. But i think nobody can save this show. And they forgot something important like the laughs.

Yeah, I finally caught this today on their website. I can't say I cared for it. I think I'm out.
