Like I said in TBBT thread, I did not like it, but I am willing to give it a few more tries.

I thought the acting was OK, but like someone else said the laughs were not there, and too much Sheldon gets annoying. I also hated Parsons narrating, it really added nothing to the show.

TBBT stopped being funny a while ago. Pointless to make this show, but it's the only hit they have...so why not? I don't think it'll be here next season unless it delivers a lot of viewers.

But...do we really need 2 shows about the same guy?

Finally watched the "Pilot" last night and really enjoyed it.
Seems like a really good cast.

It wasn't bad. Personally I've never been much of a fan of tbbt, but my wife loves it so by default I watch it too. Young Sheldon wasn't terrible, but I think the only thing it has for it so far at the moment is that it's connected to tbbt.

I stopped watching TBBT like 2 seasons ago but I loved this pilot. Wish they didn't wait a month between episode 1 and 2 though.

I enjoyed the pilot enough to watch the new episode and I'm torn. It was cringe worthy until the dinner scene which might be the funniest thing I've seen on tv this year. Such a huge difference between the first three quarters of the episode and the final stretch.

So glad they decided to bring this back earlier than originally planned. Last night's episode was great fun, from Sheldon attempting to make friends and having a new friend over for dinner to seeing Billy Sparks and the FBI agents, both of which had previously been mentioned on episode of The Big Bang Theory. Can't wait to see Annie Potts as Meemaw next week.

I didn't really like the first episode, but the second episode was much better. Hopefully it can stay on course.

I don't really get why Sheldon shares a room with his sister though, wouldn't it make more sense for him to share a room with his brother?

Probably because his brother has never been on TBBT (as far as I can remember anyway) & his Sister has multiple times.

It makes sense that Sheldon's brother would have his own room since he's the oldest sibling. That's usually how it works.

Except when you have one child of an opposite gender to the rest. Otherwise it gets awkward later on in life.

As far as I can remember his sister was on the show only once (where all the other guys were fighting over her), there was also the episode where Sheldon was in Texas because she was giving birth, but we never saw her.

I have never watched the Big Bang Theory show, but I have seen some of this show and to me, Iain (Sheldon) couldn't be anymore precious.

God bless you and him always!!!

To me, last night's episode was sad, what we learn at the end and the fact that Sheldon never did make it to Cape Canaveral.

God bless you and Iain (Sheldon) always!!!

Last episode was definitely on the sadder side, seems like BBT will be the one with the laughs and YS will be the one with the tender moments.

Sheldon's dad is a much different character in this show than the way Sheldon talks about him on TBBT. Sheldon usually talked about him as a drunk who was rarely around, how his parents fought constantly, and how his dad cheated on his mom. I wonder if the show will show a change in his dad over time or keep him as a positive figure. I also wonder if the show lasts long enough if they'll kill off the dad since the TBBT talked about when he dies.

Yeah, some of the scenes between Sheldon and his dad have been surprisingly sweet and touching. Last night's ending was kind of sad but I loved George asking him what causes thunder and lightning, and Sheldon's narration reminiscing how he later realized his dad was just trying to keep him happy.

I have noticed that George is portrayed differently from how he's been described for years on BBT, so either he'll gradually change if the show runs long enough or they deliberately chose to ignore his established personality. The way he was always talked about on BBT, he might have just come across as an unlikable jerk and made the show hard to work.

Young Sheldon has proven a lot more tender and heartfelt than I expected, although it's certainly not without laughs. I've had laugh-out-loud moments in every episode so far. I'm enjoying this show a lot.

My brother doesn't have to pretend.

^^^ I felt kind of bad for him in the end too. Where they went wasn't even his choice and then they never make it to where they were supposed to be.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. Not to mention their dad lied every time that coin was flipped.
