Are you basing it on the stock pic at Amazon or somewhere else? Why would it be oversized, unless it comes with a book or something?

I know, that's why I mentioned the Amazon stock pic. But sometimes stock pics make packaging thicker than it is in real life. I'm wondering why it would be that thick for just a 2-disc release. Like, are there other examples from SC where they have 2 disc sets with thick packaging like that? The only reason I can see it being that thick is if it had a book, or thick booklet.

This is the pic of the BD only release. You can see it's a normal thickness packaging. Not sure why the addition of a UHD disc would double its size (unless again, it included something more)

The John Carpenter releases from Studio Canal were thick digipaks, perhaps this is too?

Yeah those were pretty thick as they included a booklet, poster, and art cards too.

[Show spoiler]

I see on Amazon.de mention of a soundtrack, so the UHD set may be upwards of 4 discs. Combine that with a possible booklet, and/or postcards and I guess that would explain the thickness difference.

Excellent choice to use as an example.
Maybe itís a slipbox housing the BD case and 4k case? Assuming the pic is correct.

I wonder if SC's BD and UHD will use Criterion's 2015 4k restoration or a brand new one?

Whoa that's a pretty Steel. Not sure I like the movie enough to double dip since I have the Criterion. That standard cover looks really good too, and captures the movie well. Although the way they lined up the names it seems like Julie has the mustache
