I always opt for them if available. If I can wait to go to another store to ensure I get a slipcover, the movie wasn't a must have to begin with. Obviously, if it's a must have, the (lack of) slipcover doesn't matter.

Oh I have plenty of reversible covers. I didn't think that's what this thread was about.

100s?! It is incredibly rare Iíll give you that. A few months ago I struck gold at Amoeba Records and found used copies of both Atlantis and Treasure Planet with absolutely PRISTINE slipcovers for $15 each. Had been hunting for years and couldnít believe my luck.

9 times out of a 10 I will not buy it without a slip, and I hate this about me. I don't know why I feel this urge. But yes, I will buy it if it's a rare-ish find and look for the slip later. But for most regular releases I won't care too much. But boutique labels, yeah, I'm waiting for it with the slipcover.

A slipcover is always a plus, but I wouldn't refuse to buy a BD/UHD just because it doesn't have one.

A few years ago when there were a bunch of local shops with a regular rotation of used blus, I'd often be picky and choosy enough to wait out for a slipped version since they seemed bound to eventually show up. But now it's not really a big deal, especially considering how much the collection has grown and it's kind of a hassle to keep track of everything.

Yeah, Saludos Amigos is the only Disney one I have right now without a cover and it's painfully obvious.

Why all this hate for slipcovers in the "slipcover" forum? GET OUT!

I feel odd about bumping this thread, but it is not too far down the first page. This subforum is on life support. That's why I post pics of my slipcover haul over at the other place. No love when you post pics here. This forum is more about release news than collecting.

I'll show myself out...

I don't hate them; I just don't care about them. If I purchase a Blu-ray from a store, I'll grab a copy without a slipcover if one is available that way.

I'm not quite sure why this is an issue. Some people like them; some don't.

I'm the same way when it comes to slipcovers, if I see one that has a damaged slipcover I usually purchase that one since I don't keep them anyway.

If it's a movie I want to own, it's irrelevant whether or not it comes with a slip cover, I'm still going to buy it.

Of course I'd buy the movie. After all its the movie that you're truly spending the money to get.

Of course ill buy it. If it has a slip great, if not its no big deal. I wont pay more for the same movie with a slip & would never buy a slip by itself for a movie I have. I like them but don't have to have to them.

I'll buy a movie without a slipcover. Some blu-ray movies and early 4K UHD releases didn't have slipcovers at all, so you actually don't have a choice, if you really want the movie. You're not buying the slipcover, you're buying the movie. If The Abyss is finally released on blu-ray or even in 4K UHD without a slipcover, you think I'm not going to buy it? Hell yeah I will.

I prefer to have slipcovers if they are available, especially for new releases. If not, it works for me too if I like the movie.

I was going to post this in the Hamilton Book thread, but decided to avoid complaints and put it in one of the many slips posts.

Don't put your hand upon my hip
Unless you got that slippy dip
Slippy dippy
(clap clap clap)
Slippy dippy
(clap clap clap)
And to this you best not trip
Or I will calm you with a quip
Slippy dippy

When I heard pmacmovies call them 'slippy dippys' I started hearing a song sorta combining Da Dip and Hey Mickey.
