Default Can you convert title from Game Pass to Owned without redownload?

My Google Fu isn't working today and I'm not very experienced when it comes to Game Pass so hopefully this doesn't sound too dumb...

I've got Halo: The Master Chief Collection currently installed from Game Pass. I have a copy being sent to me on disc. Can I "convert" the current download to "owned" without re-downloading/reinstalling anything or will the disc version require me to essentially reinstall the game?

Thanks

I want to say yes but I'm not exactly sure myself.

The game install should remain intact but in order to launch the game you’d need the disc inserted. I’m not familiar with Game Pass but this is how it’s been when going between a physical to digital license for a title IIRC. Game Pass is your license to play and then the disc is also a license to play. If you do have to redownload the game for some reason your saved game will sync with the new install anyway, though. The most you’d lose is the time and/or bandwidth to redownload if I’m wrong.
