Default Rumour: World of Warcraft: Shadowlands

One of Xbox Series X's biggest exclusive games just seemingly leaked. Last week, Microsoft announced a huge slab of Xbox Series X games, including Fable, Forza Motorsport, and Stalker 2. Adding to this was updates on Xbox Series X games we already knew about like Halo Infinite, Hellblade II, and Everwild. There's a lot of games coming to Xbox Series X, including many promising console exclusives. However, Microsoft has already confirmed there are still more announcements and reveals in the chamber, and one of these bullets may have just fired early.

Today, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands was rated in Brazil not just for release on PC, but Xbox Series X. Of course, it's possible this rating is a mistake, but if it's not, it's huge news, as it would mean the iconic game is coming to console for the very first time. -Source

That would be quite a big title if it exclusively releases on Series X only but my question is how many users on Xbox actively play MMO games and whether the exclusivity would be timed or permanent.

Are we sure its an exclusive? Or is that just speculation because a ps5 page hasn't leaked yet?

Unless this is a cross-buy game so the Win10 version works on XSX (which sort of negates other consoles), I can't imagine this being more than a timed exclusive.

Now...who has news on Diablo IV?

Derry, or at least it feels like it.

If this was an exclusive I have to imagine they'd have announced it at their press conference last week.

This was debunked.

Please be mindful of the sources when posting stuff, is a really awful site for poor clickbaity articles that turn out to be false.

Blizzard: ‘no plans’ to bring World of Warcraft: Shadowlands to Xbox Series X

After months of speculation around World of Warcraft: Shadowlands coming to consoles, a representative from Blizzard told Polygon that the developer has “no plans” to bring the MMO and its new expansion to console. But that doesn’t mean it will never appear.

When the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands alpha first began earlier this year, players datamined controller support. This feature originally made players wonder if the MMO would make the jump to consoles as well. Blizzard released a statement on its forums, stating the gesture was to help improve World of Warcraft’s accessibility, and let players use controllers without downloading an add-on.

But a recent rating in Brazil kicked up more speculation about World of Warcraft on consoles.

On Monday, Gematsu tweeted that Blizzard received a rating for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands for both Xbox Series X and PC on the Brazil Ministry of Justice’s rating website. But this rating was an error, according to Blizzard.

“We currently have no plans to bring World of Warcraft or Shadowlands to Xbox Series X,” a representative from Blizzard told Polygon. “The platform was listed on the Brazil Ministry of Justice rating website in error, and the entry has since been updated to reflect that the game is coming only to PC.”

While Blizzard’s statement doesn’t confirm that World of Warcraft, Shadowlands or otherwise, will never come to consoles, it certainly sounds like the MMO won’t make the move when Blizzard launches Shadowlands later this year.
