If this series somehow gets WB to release the Powerpuff Girls Movie on Blu-ray, it would be all worth it, no matter how bad the reboot itself might be.

The PPG have no fingers and they're smaller than midgets so I guess they're just gonna use normal sized humans?

Buttercup will be a trans man, to really subvert the source material. Bubbles will probably be bipolar or something.

It's going to be live-action... so, yes? They're just doing like Archie Comics and aging them to make them CW-sexy lol All that's going to be the same are the names probably. The rest will be angsty CW drama.

I loved it and even though I tried the reboot, it just wasn't for me.

I wonder if they'll do some of the characters justice. I can't honestly see them doing a character like Him in the current climate, or keeping a character like Miss Bellum the sex symbol she is in the original. Can't imagine they'd commit to the running gag of keeping her face obscured either. Sigh.

Anyone who tries to claim Miss Bellum is problematic has never seen the original show, is trolling, trying to find something to complain about for no reason, saw the series but never understood anything about it, or a horrible combination of all 4. The big joke was that the sexy secretary was more intelligent and capable than the actual Mayor. Hell, one episode in the original tackled close minded feminism and gender roles (Season 3 Episode 10: Equal Fights), with Miss Bellum being one of the voices of reason at the end. I just can't fathom how anyone thinks anything in the original series is dated or problematic. The 2016 show has received more controversy than the original because they made the Powerpuffs (who are 1st graders there) twerk (a sexual dance) not just in 1 episode but 2, made one of their adult writers be a crush of one of the Powerpuffs, and other terrible things.

As for this adaptation, I'm open to new interpretations if they're good, but making the Powerpuffs bitter over "losing their childhood' already shows how big of a dumpster fire this is most likely going to be. There were just as many scenes and episodes of the girls just being normal kids, like the season 2 episode 10 episode "The Powerpuff Girls Best Rainy Day Adventure Ever". If there was a smart way to reboot the Powerpuff Girls in live action but more mature, something more of the tone of Scott Pilgrim vs the World or the show Doom Patrol, embrace the over the top silliness of the source material, but this sounds way too much like Riverdale or Arrow. I'm open for it to prove me wrong, but I highly doubt it. Especially since this isn't being done by HBO Max, it's being done by CW. Sorry for the long rant, but between the 2016 reboot and now this, being a fan of this license has been absolutely infuriating. My only positive takeaway is that we'll eventually get the original series and the movie on Blu-ray hopefully.

Sounds like most of CW's attitude... I'm more concerned with how it sounds like they're turning The 4400 into a class/race type how by saying the "overlooked, undervalued, or otherwise marginalized people" vanished. I'd rather them pick up 14 years after the USA series finale when
[Show spoiler]everybody was developing powers
.

Since we are talking about the Powerpuff Girls, what do you guys think of the odds of a BD release of the original series? I would like that since the DVD set is out of print.

Slim to none. Cartoon Network is absolutely terrible at getting their series on physical media.

So they're kind of like Disney, and Nickelodeon to a lesser extent, in that regard?

Jokes aside, if you're a fan of western televised cartoons, be they old or new, you're going to have to get used to not being able to own physical copies of a lot of them.

That doesn't look like Dove Cameron lol They also have the actors matched to the wrong characters, Chloe Bennett and Dove Cameron need to be swapped.

Dove Cameron's involvement makes sense, it's on par with her range... but it's clearly a step down for Chloe Bennett, she could do so much better than a CW show. But for her, I'll give it a rock-bottom-expectations shot. Funny that Quake is now 'sisters' with the girl who cut off Yo-Yo's arms.

Landing a CW show pretty much means a guaranteed 4 seasons and steady paycheck.

Good looking actors with limited range should definitely latch onto one.

I'm SHOCKED that they didn't cast Madelaine Petsch as Bubbles.
