Default Help, thoughts on a new receiver

I currently have a Sony 295ES Projector that has "Imax Enhanced", however I have a Marantz SR6012(older) and it does not support "Imax Enhanced". I have been debating with myself over a year on if it really is worth upgrading to take advantage of the "Imax Enhanced" feature as it relates to sound, picture, etc. Lastly, I need a 11.2 receiver as I currently have a 2-channel amp along with my SR6012 to support my 11.2 set-up.

Thoughts please?

The new SR 6015 looks like a beauty of a machine that'll fulfill your needs.

Upgrading just because of IMAX Enhanced, I don't know man.

Nice projector!

The only Marantz AVR that is 11.2 channels built-in is the SR 8015. With the SR 7015 and SR 6015 you would still need that 2 channel amp to support 11.2 as these AVRs are only 9.2 channels.

If you do not need 8K pass through and HDMI 2.1, then you can also consider the previous Marantz models, which are discounted now, such as the SR 8012 (11.2 channels built-in), the SR 7013, and the SR 6014. I have the Marantz SR 7013 and I am happy with it so far.

The 6015 has 9.2 channels, but can process 11.2 with an amplifier, which the OP has.

This is a nice unit and if I weren't a Yamaha Fanboy, I'd seriously consider it if I were looking to upgrade.

I know; I replied because the OP made it sound as if he wanted an AVR that was already 11.2 channels capable without the addition of a separate amp. Also, if he doesn't need 8K pass through and HDMI 2.1, he can get some good discounts on the previous models.

I plan to add a two channel amp to my SR 7013 at some point, but 9 channels is still very enjoyable in my small home theater room.

To the OP, I am in the same boat. I have a 12 year old receiver that can get me through some audio features on 4K UHD movies but for others, I really need to upgrade, audio wise. I do play video games and would also like the 2.1 features that are on the new gaming consoles. Downside is that last year's receivers have chip issues with the Xbox Series X for the HDMI 2.1 features. So, I'm waiting until newer models come out this year. I'm sure they have some kind of fix or upgraded hardware that will allow HDMI 2.1 to go through properly. Does anyone know when newer AVR models will be announced/ coming out??

Yes, it sure would be!
I've got 5.1.2 now, but would like to go 5.2.4 sometime.
I had 7.2.4 before and that was something else.

I also have the same issues as I just got the Xbox Series X and the Playstation 5 and currently I am not getting the full bandwidth of both systems because of the HDMI 2.1 issue with my current Marantz. Lastly, I would love to get a recent model but I heard there is "chip" issues with those as well when it comes to HDMI 2.1 and Xbox series X and Playstation 5.

I am looking for a receiver, etc. that has 11.2, Imax Enhanced and no issues with HDMI 2.1 so I can get the full capability of both gaming systems
