Pretty much all the time I blind buy movies including the Shudder horror stuff that come out for DVD like Z. Even the big blockbuster comic book movies and the Star Wars sequel trilogy movies I end up blind buying .

Back in 2003 I used to blind buy a whole bunch of stuff including Jason X for DVD

Too much lately but honestly.

I used to sample movies before I bought them but honestly, if I see a movie, studio or director and think I'm going to like it, I'll just buy it now. If I don't end up liking it, I'll sell it to the local used shop.

I've been really good about blind buys lately with only a handful I didn't care for.

I'd rather the first experience watching a movie be the best possible quality and sound.

I think I'm going to stop blind buying all together. I did for movies about a year or two ago, before I went digital with my movies. Now I'm thinking it is time to stop with anime too. There's too much crap that I either don't end up liking at all or that I watch once and never again. It simply isn't worth it anymore, not when 99% of everything is already available streaming.

Maybe every once in a while but not that much. Only time really is either a very good sale or if the movie is a classic I haven’t gotten around to watching yet.

My blind buy buying of movies have died down a bit since Avengers Endgame and the Star Wars sequels.

I am not sure:

- I buy a lot of blu-ray's of films I have never seen. I love to discover new stuff.
- I rarely buy blu-ray's on a whim. I always have some sort of idea on what the film is and what the quality of the release is.

I suppose that it is not entirely blind-buying what I do.

Far less now than i did with dvd. At this point i still cant resist Dollar Store finds if they at least look.like they have potential. Hard to lose at that price. At full price not so much anymore. Limited space and wife saying you have to much now prevent me from doing much of that these days. Can't give that up totally

These days, I usually try to borrow from the library first. Especially for Hollywood movies made after 2010 or so, movies have become 95% agenda and 5% content. Or 95% let’s just hire someone famous and put a lot of CGI in it. Still there a lot of films or shows that the library doesn’t have. Plus a lot of newer foreign films from Asia or Eastern Europe that the libraries don’t have and I end up blind buying. On the flip side, the 60’s WWII TV series, I had never seen a single episode and turned out to be a great blind buy. Or the 20th Century Boys trilogy or Snowpiercer or Watchmen et al et al. Come to realize it, I should count them up, I would guess the majority of my collection are blind buys. Oh, to lament the death of the video rental store!
