Default King of the Hill DVDS

I understand that the internet is filled with fake King of the Hill DVDs. How do you tell the difference between real and fake?

Not familiar with the King of the Hill DVDs but if they're like the Dragon Ball Z ones, a good indicator the new lots where all the seasons are vacuformed together and sold at an insane price.

They can be burned or pressed but regardless there is a high chance any duel layer DVD (such as kind of the hill) would be compressed to a single layer.

The cases are usually cheap and brittle as well.

I'd say that is an unfortunate case of buy and test then open a dispute if they're bootlegs

I really don’t know for certain, but I’ve been slowly buying seasons with the slim individual cases put in a slip box.

The discs are flipper discs, and I don’t think any have been bootlegs. Dirt cheap used on eBay too.

I would think the big complete series sets would be targeted for DVD, but I don’t really know for sure.

The series I saw was a sealed mix of Fox & Olive cases.

I'm 100% certain what you're looking at are bootlegs. The Fox released seasons 1 through 6 are pretty easy to find legit copies of, but the Olive releases for the other 7 seasons are much harder to find. Anyone selling sealed copies of the entire series is clearing selling bootlegs.

Personally I wish I hadn't waited getting seasons 8 through 12 when Olive put them out, because I haven't been able to find any legit copies. Every version of these I end up with are clearly bootlegs not only because of the obvious poor printing quality of the materials, but also because the DVDs are single-layered.

In my experience, getting season 13 on blu-ray is good way to avoid getting a bootleg.

Authentic season 1-6 releases are all slim cases housed in a box. I can get some pictures if you want. Bootlegs are in a regular plastic DVD case(got some of these bootlegs if you want photos)

As for 7-12, I really want to see photos of authentic sets as the generic photos you see everywhere are no help.

I figure getting them direct from Amazon when they pop up is the best bet, but still am not sure.
