Hi guys I was hoping you could give me some ideas on some stuff.
Is there a NON Plasma TV that uses Active 3D Bluray? It also has to have an S Video port which is a dealbreaker Lastly should I use the OPPO BDP-103D Or OPPO BDP-105D Thanks in advance! New to the scene. Last edited by jp554731; 03-30-2023 at 03:48 PM. Reason: Mistake |

Starting at around $7,000+ all JVC’s and most Sony native 4K LCOS projectors offer 3D with active glasses. If you want passive glasses 3D from a projector then you need to go with a native 1080P DLP projector starting at around $30,000+. DLP projectors are King of 3D picture quality and both active and passive glasses at 144fps have the exact same picture quality. Low cost active glasses 3D DLP projectors with a 1080P light engine can be purchased for under $5,000. S-Video was removed from all displays around 10 years ago, S-Video is now considered a old technology that was used by S-VHS, Hi-8, etc. Compoenent video replaced S-Video and then HDMI replaced component video. |

3D on flat panels was offered on select models between the years 2010-2016. Starting in the year 2017 all new models of TV’s stopped offering the 3D feature, meaning 2016 was the last year for 3D. However some of those year 2016 3D displays did not go out of production until early to mid 2017, so technically it is possible in theory to find a 3D flat panel with a manufactories date of 2017. You will have to do your own research and try and find some year 2016 Sony XBR flat panels that were manufactured as late as 2017 with the 3D feature. That might be a time consuming process since you will need to read through all the Sony manuals and spec sheets on models dated between 2010-2016. Many people consider the year 2016 4K OLED from LG using passive glasses as offering the best 3D quality from a flat panel. There is a reason why 3D is only offered on projectors now and not flat panels. 3D had massive quality problems and eye fatigue issues on flat panels. The best quality 3D has always been a dual DLP projector in a IMAX/Dolby Cinema style setup, with second best setup being for single DLP projectors in a 144fps triple flash technology using either passive or active glasses. If you really want 3D do not get a poor performance flat panel but buying a DLP projector if you plan on watching Blu-ray 3D material 90% of the time.
