Thanks Peekaboo. I'm going to try these settings. I have been using the ones I found on CNET, and they do look pretty good, but yours may be a little more precise. I'm going to try them out. Thanks for your time in getting this information out. Appreciate it.

I find it interesting you have DNR and MPEG noise reduction both on and set high. I would have thought this wouldn't be necessary especially for Blue ray. The few settings I've seen have these turned off.

Toshiba 55g310u

(55inch LCD)

Mixed light and dark room running exclusively from dvI>hDmI PC (nvidia 260GTX with default settings) Running dvd and Bray rips.

Ran a calibration dvd with blue filter, as well as a color meter to get the colors just right.

Contrast 80
Backlight 30
Brightness 48
Color 41
Sharpness 0

Under Advanced

Dynamic contrast : off
Static gamma +4
Color temp: warm
Bdrive -6
Gdrive +2

Clearframe and junk turned OFF unless you want everything to have this creepy filmed on a cheap HD camera in somebodies house feeling.

enjoy.

Im only posting this cuz i spent HOURS on the internet trying to google some baseline settings just like this and found nothing. Did find this site up at the top of the searches though.

Default Need help with new Toshiba 55UL610U

I splurged for Christmas and got this TV. However, I am getting frustrated with the settings. What looks good on one channel doesn't look good on another.

It is setup for AT&T Uverse (which is majority of viewing)
and a SONY 3d Blu-Ray.

Does anyone have some settings for this tv model?

Major complaint: there seems to be a pink/purple tint to everything and then some colors are harsh. Live broadcast (like TV network News) is hard to watch. people looked like they are almost glowing bright and washed out..

I'm new to a TV that has so many settings. It's been a week now and don't want to end up returning it as there has to be a way to work with all of these settings.

Thanks

Default Toshiba Regza AV635D calibration settings (and I guess it's the same for the RV635D)

Toshiba Regza AV635D calibration settings (and I guess it's the same for the RV635D)
If you're using a PS3 make sure you have set RGB range on your PS3 to Full and all the other options ON. And to your TV: RGB range to Auto.
To make sure there is no lag when gaming, use the same settings but in the Game picture mode. The picture looks the same as standard picture mode.

Picture mode: standard
Backlight: 65
Contrast: 93
brightness: -3
Colour: -8
Tint: 10
sharpness: -3

Advanced Picture Settings:

3D Colour Management: OFF

Colour temperature: 3 (and set blue-offset: 1 and blue-gain: 2 ONLY )

Auto Brightness Sensor: as you prefer but not over 75, especially in a dark room.

Active Backlight Control: I have it ON for deeper black in darkest scenes, but if you find this annoying turn it OFF.

Black/White level: 1 (the picture may look better with higher levels but it crushes the contrast tests.)

Static Gamma: +3

Noise Reduction: Low & Auto (set this OFF when gaming or watching blu-ray movies)

Resolution+: ON, set to 1 (set this OFF when the picture is HD. The picture may look clearer but it adds a white line on edges and it adds noise.)

Cinema mode: OFF (if its available)

I have spent LOTS of hours with LOTS of test patterns and images to get this result wich I find almost perfect.
colour and tint have been set using the classic colour bars image and the expert mode of this TV. For more information about how I set colour and tint visit this page: http://www.spearsandmunsil.com/artic...orandtint.html
