I just got that set too for the Bedroom. I'm looking for the settings right now on a couple of sites. I'll post them back in here if I find them. So far all I've done is set it to Natural for the Blu Ray Playback & man does it look good!

I have the LG4770.

Would imagine they're similar. I just marvel at the HD clarity of my set.

I have never witnessed another picture better (that would be amongst dozens and dozens of other sets from friends, family etc., including newer and pricier).

In fact, I'm so happy with the picture that I'm hesitant to alter anything. But you know what they said about curiosity and the cat? I'm tempted to sample some of the settings relayed here (I could always change them back if displeased).

Also, I do have one of those calibration DVD's (from CompUSA) that I should try.

What has to be considered is the preference factor.

For instance, the predominant aspect ratio mode is "Just Scan," and I would think this is the way for me to go, but with this mode, I will occasionally (with certain, older broadcasts) get those annoying white flashing, surging horizontal streaks at the top of my screen. "Set to Program" or 16:9 never does that.

Some people turn off Noise filtering and the TruMotion option. I prefer these on.

I will try the calibration DVD and report back.

United Kingdom Display Settings

I have just purchased an LG 37LF2510 television and I am struggling to find a decent picture setting, the presets just arent good enough. Can anybody help me by suggesting what a perfect setting would be. I have tried a few of the settings already mentioned in this discussion but dont know if they are the best for my tv as its a different model. (Im not very technically minded) Really hope someone can help. Many thanks in advance

it doesn't seem like anyone comes to this thread anymore, but I'll give it a crack in case someone has the same tv as me.

I have the LG 60PK950 60 inch, I've finally (after 2 months) started seeing better picture quality out of the TV. I calibrated it myself but I just feel it could be better. There are certain instances where the picture will look so much better on my Bravia XBR, and it's a much smaller tv. If anyone has any suggestions, it'd be much appreciated.

I find most people settings are way off and dull. No offence but here are my poping/realistic settings for my 52LG60 (Scarlet) using the DVE HD Basics:

Expert 1/2
Blacklight: Depends on lighting condition
Contrast: 90 (Default and keep it that way)
Brightness: 53 is perfect using the PLUGE test pattern
Sharpness: 50 (The middle mark is the way the film is, without added noise and ringing i.e.: perfect and natural) (With test pattern i observed that a maximum sharpness of 53 dosent do much harm if you want to POP it a little.)
Color: 52 (Using the color filters, this is absolutely spot on)
Tint: Keep it the way it is

Expert settings:
Fresh Contrast: If you put it on on LOW, add ONE SINGLE notch for Brightness and Color as it changes their properties A LITTLE BIT. Havent tried it on HIGH, but you really should not...
Gamma: Medium (Low gives interesting results, but ive found it to be a tad to light in the black level department.)
Color temperature: A lot of people like to put this on WARM, but i really dont find this setting particularly attractive so Keep it on normal for the sake of visual beauty.

With these settings, films are gonna look natural without being overly dull. Colors are gonna be accurate from old Criterion movies to new sharper film like Iron Man and such. Keep in mind that fresh contrast looks good but a little fakier and that you have got to add 1 notch of brightness and color when turned on as it Ŧcrushŧ the blacks.

Those settings are pretty much perfect since they really respect the test patterns. I just dont have any info about the IRE calibration.

Hyder, I just bought this one - should have it next week. I'll let you know if I get a good pic.
