You know I am seeing those settings on my TV, I noticed that LUMA at strong

delivers a clearer display, with it off or anything else makes the image look

like its behind the backlight, or in a faded filter.

I have the SV420XVT so read my post on the last page with the quote. I used all of his settings, then try what I have posted in addition to his. Best picture I have seen yet in a year with my TV.

dellis, I used your custom display settings for Vizio VL37OM on theVizio VO37OM I purchased on the Feb. 17th. About all I changed was using Medium luma rather than strong. If anyone reading this has actual settings for VO37OM, please post.

Check this out, I posted onto Vizio Tech Support to get custom display settings for my VO37OM & VA26L10T HDTVs. They told me to reset to the factory settings.

WOW! I can't believe some of the settings I am seeing.

Colour past 50? do you guys like orange skin?
Colour temp Normal? You like off white instead of white?

Heres my opninion anyway.

Backlight: varies depending on room brighteness etc.
Brightness:50
Contrast:50
Color: 45
Tint:0
Sharpness: shouldn't go past 4 as 5 introduces Edge enhancement.

Noise Reduction: Off (gets rid of details)
Color Enhancment: OFF (Any setting gived a very unnatural glow to the picture)
Adaptive Luma: OFF (Makes the blacks even more grey)
Backlight Control: OFF
Colot Temp: Cool
Red:130
Green:125
Blue:124
(These numbers should vary in between 120 and 135 based on preference)

Smooth Motion: If you like everything to look like a documentery then by all means put it on, I find it to be good for documentaries, and live television. Anything else manipulates the original source. Movies looks hilariously bad with it on.

Real Cinema Mode: With Smooth Motion on, Smooth, With it off, OFF

Film Mode: Auto (when watching a Bluray Set to 24hz output on a 120, 240, or 600hz set for example, the judder [a jerking motion to the frames] will be gone).

With these settings in the room that my TV is in the PQ is very close to the source material. Not unnaturally enhancing anything.

I think some of you are like my Dad that think "HD means brighter and more colourfull", No HD is supposed to be able to portray realistic detail, or how the creator of a certain source intended it.

By all means though if Super bright, Overstaurated colours resulting in unnatural detail, and grey blacks float your boat, then by all means...... by all means....

Color Temperature is supposed to be on Normal if you're watching a TV show or a movie because that setting is the TV Broadcasting/Movie Industry D65 color temperature standard.

If you're watching a live Sporting Event or playing a video game you can change the color temperature whatever you like, but for watching TV or Movies leave the the Color Temperature on Normal.

I know thats how it is supposed to be, but on my tv atleast on any color grid it changes the colors, makes them unnatural. it is like putting a brown tint over the image.
