Cool! I'll d/l that app in case. Next up a 32GB microSD card. If I convert my flac files to mp3-320 I should get several hundred songs, which will do just fine.

Samsung Canada (and I suppose Samsung U.S. as well) finally released ICS for the Note yesterday. Great news, but BELL MOBILITY still hasn't made it available. GRRRR!!!!!!

Half an hour after I posted the above it became available. Although I forgot the time I started the upgrade, I'm guessing it took about 45-60 minutes over WiFi to update and install.

Will play around with it today to see what features it has and what improvements have been made!

Good to see Samsung Canada and Bell release an update...that bodes well for getting JB on my S3 when it's finished!

I love the phone. How do you download movies from Flixster to the phone and watch them without using Flixster again? I downloaded 2 movies, but it wont play.

After the ICS update Facebook freezes on me all the time.

Glad to see another fan of the Galaxy Note!

I unfortunately can't help you with the downloading/playing of movies as I don't use the phone for that, but hopefully someone can chime in.

I've not tried FB yet since the upgrade, but I'll let you know later if I experience the same thing.

i'm assuming it requires the flixster app, unless you paid for them?

and facebook freezes for everyone, always. such a crappy app. your best bet is to use the mobile site

My wife has it as well and loves it. I powered off and back on and since then so far no more Facebook freezes.

What is NFC? How does it work? Is this the same technology as the S3 where you can transfer info by letting both phones touch each other?

Yes it does. I click on my Flixster icon. I download the movie into my device. I want to know if you can actually watch the movie without clicking on the Flixster icon again and just click on my movie icon.

Default Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Samsung announced the new Note 2 at yesterday's IFA in Berlin. Obviously no details on carriers and release dates, but no doubt it'll hit well before Christmas.

Here's a CNET review of the new unit.

I don't think you're nuts at all. Obviously I'm somewhat biased as I bought the first Note and did so to replace my iPhone 3G. I'm not gonna crap on the iPhone5 as it looks like a wonderful phone and most will prefer it over anything else, including the Note.

I have found, after now having used it for several months, that the Note is much more useful to me as a business tool. This is due in a very large part to the very generous screen size. Additionally, viewing pages such as Facebook and the like are much more rewarding, and youtube videos look great on it.

I'm slowly getting into the S-Pen notation thing and that's been a lot of fun. The pen is super accurate and sensitive and I find myself using it more and more.

So, no...you're not nuts......check it out and see if it meets your needs. If it does, you won't be disappointed.
